I'm having trouble with both my iAXE393 and the GUITAR LINK UCG102 I bought. The UCG102 came with the newer of the two Guitar Combos (Vol. 2.1), and when I use either the iAXE or the UCG102 I can hear my guitar through the headphones, but it is a clean low volume signal, and the controls on the amps in Guitar Combos (any of the three) do nothing. I have a Mac G4 laptop running OSX.4 something. Plenty of processor and ram according to the system requirements and I know my USB ports are good...plus I ran through the set-up instructions as described...

    What might be the problem?

I'm not sure exactly what you mean, but I'll give it a shot. I've got the guitar plugged into USB1 on the back of the Mac, and the headphones into the guitar. I also tried USB2 and tried the headphones into the Mac.

I've also tried all the itterations on the set-up menues in the Audio/Midi controller and the one for Guitar Combo. One thing that is confusing about that is, even though I'm running 10.4, I don't get the "Behringer USB Audio" option, just "USB Audio Codec".

USB Audio Codec may be correct.
I think you'll need to contact support, because as I see it, it should be working for you.

I am having the same problems as lowbrow was. I am running mac os 10.4.11 and after following the installation instructions for the iAxe and Guitar Combos I can not get the guitar to play through the computer. I can hear the metronome back through the headphones so the device is being recognised by the computer. I've tried to contact the support team but I can't seem to register myself. I would be grateful for any advice you can offer.

    Hi

I'm having the same problems - on new MacBook pro. I cannot get any guitar sound through the headphones but I can hear previously recorded MP3s in Guitar Combo 2 & 3.

I cannot get garageband to recognise the guitar either?

Any help appreciated. The support site is a

    Vince

joke - it won't even accept my various email addresses!

It may be a 10.4.11 issue, but I don't have the guitar, so I can't help you anymore; I'm really sorry! Call Behringer and demand service.

I have an iAxe393 too, and I also experienced the same problem.
I'm using Guitar Combos (and also tried with Guitar Rig 3) and I can notice a annoying (but soft) noise. When I'm not using any effect (totally pure sound), I don't notice this noise, but when I apply any effect (like Metal > Aggressive, or anyone else on Guitar Rig) I notice that noise.

    What's happening?

    Thanks.

Does that guitar have single coil pickups?

Yeah, Single coils (which you have) do in fact buzz! The higher gains is where you'll hear the noise.

Try the 2nd or 4th pickup selector switch, that should be basically hum canceling -- but if the guitar isn't well shielded, it will buzz...

    Oh, great!

And, how to "well-shield" the pickups? I don't know about that :p

    Thanks.

It involves taking the guitar apart, and lining the control cavity with copper shielding. It's not something you'll want to do if you're not experienced with electronics.

    Oh ok ;).

A thing I have to say: The annoying noise stills standing even if I get the guitar volume (from the guitar physical pad) to 0. Also I noticed that when I don't have my fingers touching the strings it sounds more annoying (like if there were an electromagnetic field on it).

    Is also a pickup problem?

    Thanks.

That sounds like a grounding issue to me.
I'd say to return the guitar to the store for another one; probably a cold solder joint.

I cannot get my iAxe 629 to connect to my Vista 32 PC at all. Let's be sensible about this - do I need ASIO drivers, WaveRT drivers or do I really need a new sound card as well (presently Intel HD Audio//Sigmatel on Intel D975XBX mobo)

You need to contact Behringer and find out if they have an audio driver for Vista. I have no idea about this myself, I'm afraid.

Same problem for me: i'm on mac OSX.5.1, i've just bought an iAxe 624 and no sound from the guitar but only metronome or system sounds from the mac in the headphone... hard to find some support on the web.

I'm sorry guys, but I can't provide any tech support for the guitar itself; I don't have one, so I don't know how it is or isn't supposed to work. You really need to contact Behringer.

I can help you with Guitar Rig, but this is related to the driver.

I have similar problem. I recently bought the UCG102 guitar link. When I install the driver, if I keep the usb in the same port it works with all the guitar combos [1, 2 + 3] but if I want to select it as a recording option for audacity I have to use another port, which means the usb device is not picked up by any of the guitar combos.

    I am using windows xp

Is there a solution to this?

    Thanks
