I am currently trying to find my workflow for digital djing and I have found I like to search/organize my music by record label quite often. I think I'm going to be using a second itunes library for my record box with smart playlists to keep everything nice and organized.

Unfortunately itunes doesn't display "label" data, which is a pain. But seeing as ID3 tags don't seem to support it either, where does Traktor save this information? Is it in an unsupported tag that only Traktor uses, but is still saved to the mp3, or is it stored in a traktor file somewhere and linked to the mp3?

I ask because I don't want to go through the effort of adding this information to find it gone if I ever format my drive etc...

    Thanks for any help

It is stored in the metadate of the mp3 file. The "Label" field is actually populated from the "Publisher" field. You can use Mp3tag to copy the label and move it to publisher for all your tracks at once.
