I've had my Vextax VCI-100 for about a week, and I JUST upgraded to pro (very happy so far), but I noticed that when I load some tracks, it says "ID3 tags can't be written". What does this mean?

means that your tracks are write protected and therefore ID3 tags can't be written in htem. All meta data will only be held in the .nml file

What's the difference with the .nml file?

How do I get past that? The only way that I know is to burn them onto a CD, then re-re-rip them into my computer. Does it also work if I go into iTunes and select "create an MP3 version"? If I remember correctly, some of the tracks won't even let me do that.

the nl file saves all meta data in a "non destructive" way.. meaning that all the cue point, loops, beatgrids etc. data is written in a separate file instead of the audio file itself.

In any case, if you want to be able to write the files, just select the folder where you stock them, and set its permission to "read & write" for everyone, and don't forget to set it for subfolders too.

I've checked in the properties, and for all files it seems to be "read & write" for everyone.

But it still won't write ID3 tags.
