I've been having some trouble figuring out how to record.

I select the recorder, and press record and I get this error message that Traktor Pro can't read the ID3 tags of my music for recording.

I've gone into itunes and changed all my ID3 tags to version 2.2, which I'm told is what is the most compatible with Traktor Pro?

...So aside from all that, I have no idea how to make it work. I remember seeing on here somewhere that Native Instruments took off the record feature for the latest version of Traktor. Can't remember where I saw that though.

I forgot to mention that I'm using the VCI-100, so I'm mixing internally.

    just. dont. care.

the recording is made in wav-format. therefore you get this message... you get it as well if you load a wav-file.

it's confusing, but absolutely doesnt affect the recording!

having the same issue when not recording

I have a small number of wav files in my collection that give me the same error. If I beatgrid these wavs and/or edit the metadata, the information is never saved. Most other wavs work just fine for me.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is some sort of issue with corruption in the header.

Anyone have ideas? The files play fine otherwise.

It's just that .wav does not save Id3. However, your grid/cue info should be saved in the collection/playlist .nml files.

That's what I used to think, but I can transfer a wav file from my collection to another computer with traktor, and all that info is there when loaded on the new computer. This leads me to believe the info (whether it uses id3 or something else) is stored in the wav headers.

In the files where this doesn't work, I get the same message as the first post.

of course the message appears also, if the file is really corrupted.
contact the support and send them such a file, they can find that out for you!
