    Bad, sucks, or whatever else.
Why do use it or want to ?

If traktor was 2 deck with play, fast forward, rewind, pause, & record. I'm with you 100%, it sucks, buggy, & whatever else. But traktor is more than that.

Why does traktor work for some & not all, I don't know (it works for me). But after reading some post, it may be human error (not saying traktor is 100%).
This is a very good place to start.

Also there are those that think way out the box, that try (want it) to make traktor do what it was not made to do. To them traktor is limited.

Why do some refuse to read the manual or don't understand it ? I don't know.
But refusing to push a button or a of couple buttons is beyond me. That's the only way to explore it's potentials. No two people drive & sex alike, traktor is no difference. Learn how to use your tools.

So the basher/haters  (motivators) could be competitors, ex employees, ect..
    Who knows.
    Loving Traktor Scratch Pro. :p

To be a digital DJ you need to be part computer technician as well. That's just the way it has to be. Even if you pay someone to configure your machine for you, what happens if your computer goes t1ts-up at a gig? You'd better have written notes if you didn't set the computer up yourself. If you are the one who optimized your computer, you stand a better chance of recovering should something go wrong with either hardware, OS, or software.

And if you can't get it running, you're only showing your ignorance by blaming the software loudly on the forums with threats like "I'm going to tell all my friends not to buy Traktor" (the way most guys who post like this are, they probably have all of two or three friends, only one of whom is even remotely interested in DJing), or my favourite, "I'm going to go buy Serato" (go ahead, NI already got your money...which they will use for development and to make their software harder to run on YOUR computer...apparently).

It's different if you have a legit beef with how the software runs. Some people can't live without their vertical waveforms (because apparently DJing with one's ears is totally gauche), some people need to be able to customize colours, some people dislike the file management workflow, whatever. If you want it changed, rally up some support in a nice way, instead of "why the hell didn't Native Instruments just follow Serato's example and make basically a Serato clone with vertical waveforms". A feature request is more likely to be heeded and taken seriously than a feature demand.

ps Traktor sucks, Serato is better, I'm telling all my friends.

    Well said.

Im afraid we get quite a lot of that on here. People often have a knee-jerk reaction when they realise that Traktor doesnt work like an X-Box game and you cant just stick the disc in and it works perfectly within a minute.

    simple analogy:

    if you -
    - buy a car from a dealer
    - get stuck on the highway cos you ran out of fuel or ceased the engine cos you never checked the oil
    - then phone up the dealer to complain about the car

I guarantee the dealer will LAUGH AT YOU... :D

    this place is no different.

the tiniest amount of know how and maintenance will keep you going, with this forum being a veritable haynes manual for you.

^^ I'm starting to have the feeling that more and more people find that with generall DJ gear, digital or "old school". Which I think is great! I've never seen so much top quality nearly brand new kit (Technics, A&H mixers etc) on ebay, going for half the normal price, which makes me a happy shopper. lol

While I won't play it (too immersed in Mario Bros right now), I'm VERY happy about DJ Hero for this reason. When these kids find out DJing is harder than just flicking a tiny controller around, I'll be scooping up top-end xmas-gift mixers and decks on the cheap. And then maybe Karlito Santizzle can have a stormtrooper deck too.
