    greeting folks,
    so i'm new to absynth.

whenever i opened up absynth, i'm pretty sure it had been defaulted to the "A beautiful place" preset, which i really liked and wanted to explore with.

however i've been looking for other presets online, looking to get machine, mechanical sounds and industrial factory noises to try to make sounds with.

i downloaded a ksd file from absynthsounds.com. i went file -> open and picked the ksd file. it kept telling me it couldn't find metalgate.wav and i kept browsing to the wav file and it kept telling me it couldn't find it so i eventually just said ok, thinking it would add a new preset to the browser list.

it seems to have effected the "A beautiful sound" preset. it sounds like ***** now. how do i revert the change?

how do i use ksd files?

    thanks

Before loading a ksd from absynthsounds.com you should move the involved sample from the download folder to your user sample folder which you can determine in the Absynth preferences. Or just point to the missing sample when the missing sample dialogue pops up. I just checked the dl folder of "Metal Gate" and the sample is in there as it should be. I can't say what happened to your "Beautiful Place" patch though.

Note: If you're using the newest version of Absynth (5.1) then you have to convert ksds into nabs first which is an easy procedure in the File menue->Import ksd->then resave to your user library.

well i just tried deleting all absynth files on my drive and reinstalling it. that didn't fix the a beautiful place sound.
i doubt it'd be that easy to mess up a preset, would it?
maybe i'm mistaken with what i thought it sounded like....

how do i know i've properly deleted abysynth and all preferences and sound libraries?

in My Patch Folder there's a Patch "beautiful place" but its sounds like the gas building up in intestines ready to get released ... U have the same sound?

I dont know - maybe some error ( sample mess-up ) ? or the Designer of this patch have some wierd fetish... and finds other things to be beautiful and pleasant. ( Extreme Close-up of the Anus for example ? )

I have a Two OSC set to sample mode with "Power Chord_BIO.wav" sample on them... - i did not touch any of the factory presets.

U can try uninstall Absynth 5 - Then install old Absynth 4 and then update it ( but move all Factory presets from Absynth 4 before to some safe place on you HDD ) it might work...

Don't bother... It sounds very "exotic" here too, even loaded into Absynth 4 (which is still installed) just to try.

Kinda strange, considering that the preset was designed by Biomechanoid - dunno what he was thinking...

are you perhaps mixing up that patch which is indeed oddly named since it sounds nothing like the Boards of Canada track it seems to reference, with another patch called Beautiful Sky ?
