I'm surrounded by Serato

I enjoy using Traktor but I also enjoy using the prime series to the point where I'm now going forward to invest in it. It seems like most of the gear coming out, that I like, lately comes with serato accessory support. Serato is being shoved down my throat. What do you guys think? Should I surrender?

 

Stick with Traktor and master it till you can handle mistake to sound good every time but that needs dedication, be open to every new dj thing cos you need to stay in touch with technology and maybe you gonna fall in love with another I mean who knows but believe in one thing till you get to where you want to be...same goes for maschine, everyone uses Ableton for live but no many bitwg and less use maschine and that is the ticket to achieve goal just stick with that one of your choice and use all limitations in your advanse or find something special in all possibilities... I wote for traktor

 

Got the akai amx for $115 cad incld. extended warranty, dowloaded Serato plugged the amx and sc5000M and it works. Now I can bounce around platforms.

I got the amx just for Djay Pro and my iPhone though but it's nice to know for $100 I can get serato+hid support for my gear and be able to use Traktor dvs too.

 

I'm glad you are happy, how about fx? I'm really interested, usually controllers have 3 or 4 knobs for fx

 

I bought this firstly to use with my iPhone. All fx on the day pro app are x-y on screen and other stuff can be accessed on screen also. As for Traktor things can be easily remapped and for serato I'm not too sure yet.

As for the controller itself the only 2 cons of the bat that I can tell you is that the xfader is not for scratch artists and the output volume is a little less than standard. Other than that it was a great Black Friday purchase.

 

Hey that's cool, now you got your setup, i'm not into scratch but x y sounds great. My advice is to give yourself time to master that setup and get creative, and after some time give us an update on which is better, traktor or serato. For me, traktor can do everything but in the end it's all about the music Just don't stop.

 

For me it's about being able to express yourself. The amx is just a toy for me where I can take to small bars and bush parties, a piece of expendable gear if you know what I mean. It will also replace my failing kx1. I can tell you already that Traktor is better than serato no need for an update lol. However I do think Djay for my iPhone is better than both on laptops lol.

Why I made this thread is because serato surrounded me to the point that I now have it by defacto. There were others who jumped ship and stuff but this time the ship jumped over to me. I'm switching over to tablets and standalone dj'n but for now it's "Traktor til my laptop dies" :ROTFL:

 

Djay on iPhone is what Traktor dj2 should be at least but it will take probably too long...
