i'm thinking of picking up a maschine but wondered if i would run into problems using it.

my imac is a bit below the minimum spec - it's a 2ghz core duo.
the minimum spec is for a core 2 duo.

has anyone used their maschine on a similar spec'd mac to mine?
if so, how does it run?

i'll probably run it as a standalone for the majority of the time but i will also need to use it inside ableton too....

i'd really appreciate some feedback from users regarding the hit to the system that the software requires.

the last thing i need is having to shell out another £1k + for a new mac!

    thanks in advance.

sorry, i am a bit confused as to your specs?

    the NI Website says:

    Mac OS* X 10.4, Intel* Core™ Duo 2 GHz, 2 GB RAM
USB 2.0 Port, DVD drive, 5 GB free disk space for full installation

it looks like your iMac has the same specs?

fwiw, Ableton Live seems one of the best DAWs in terms of CPU performance with NI Plugins.

thanks sowari, i think i must have misread it as 'core 2 duo' which is a slightly faster processor than mine.

is anyone using a similar imac to me? if so how are you finding the performance?

it's 2ghz core duo imac. just the same as the minimum spec.

as my mac is only minimum spec, i was wondering what kind of performance i might expect, whether i might overload the computer with a certain amount of effects? whether i might be limited to a certain number of tracks before i get some glitches or slowing down?

any help or advice is much appreciated.

it all depends on how you much you push your computer... and that is the same for anyone.

i would have thought you will be able to play all the demos, some of which use a lot of fx.

if you are careful with your buffer size, you should be fine.

btw, my Macbook has the same spec.
