They haven’t put any resources into these apps in years. I was looking at reviews on the App Store and i was stunned by the suffering going on out there. I look at this board and rarely does a post get a discussion going. That’s because the community has given up - and users can’t be faulted for that. Folks know when an app is robust and being supported by the developer. These apps are not and we all know it.
Alas, it could have been much better...

Well dam. I just purchased iMaschine 2 for the first time. I never heard of iMaschine until yesterday. On YouTube, it appears lots of musicians use and recommend this app; therefore, I purchased it.

Once upon a time, this app was good for what it was intended to do: get done rough ideas for songs and tracks using quality (44.1 kHz and 16-bit? SERIOUSLY?!!?) sounds/samples. But two years or so and countless soundpacks later, I’m STILL looking for a swing function that DOESN’T affect all 4 tracks, MIDI support for playing keyboard parts (because large fingers don’t work well on small keys), and addressing a bug that causes the app to crash after saving custom drum kits (ever since iOS 11!!). I also agree with another reviewer who mentioned that file management (as well as importing and exporting projects to something OTHER THAN MASCHINE, which is something many of us - like me - don't have) needs to be better and more integrated. It’s sorta “bassackwards” to develop all of these new soundpacks (again...44.1 and 16?!!?) and ignore the framework and usability of the app itself (but the budget producer in me couldn't walk away from a dollar per pack, either). I mean, thanks for the addition of effects, the adaptability of 3D Touch and all else from the original incarnation. However, at this rate, NI shoulda added this app among their numerous updates and additions to their arsenal of products across the board, even over the K12 release. Not that a happily ever after is guaranteed with an iM3, but...

    Really sad.
The app doesn’t even launch in the iPhone X.
    Really sad NI.

I think it's abandoned as well. I haven't seen an update in ages for it. I see Korg gadget updates every month.

That being said it does work very well as a mobile complement to a full Maschine setup. I just recently revisited a rough idea tune i did on iMaschine a few years ago. I export into Dropbox and imported into the Mac and Maschine super easy.

I had this problem too and NI couldn’t explain why to me or fix it after several email conversations. I did clean reinstall’s etc but in the end I discovered by myself that low power mode on my iPhone X was preventing it from opening. Still very disappointing though with the lack of support and development from NI.

Does anyone know the last version of iOS that the iMaschine 1 was able to run on? I had a bunch of cool sketches that I want to develop, but lost access due to updating the iOS a long while back, which made me unable to open the app and thus open those projects.

Hey itch13, I reinstalled iMaschine 1 after getting a "new" iphone 7 and the app is working for me to compose sketches.
But I'm having a number of problems and concerns now: When I plug in headphones to my iPhone to record a vocal or hear the music from the app, it doesn't work.
Secondly, even bigger concern: I also have made tons of sketches from years ago, which I always intended to open in the full software which I finally attempted to do, and the files (iMprj) won't open in my maschine version 1 software. (MK1 I guess it's called.)
So all kinds of technical difficulties on my end.

But the app itself does work minus the headphones on my iphone7
