First of all - the word 'hater' needs to be banned in 2013 - it's played out and it doesn't make the person using it sound any more informed than the person whom they are accusing of 'hating'.

With that said, sketchpad or not, they need to add AT THE VERY LEAST...AudioCopy. At least that way, we can CnP into our *ahem* Audiobus-compatible apps like AudioShare or Loopy. If they aren't going to update the app then at least give us something that we can use to stay within the box and not have to pull out iTunes or log into SoundCloud.

I can give a damn about people rationalizing that it's "just a sketch app". The fact is that NI monetizes iMaschine with the in-app purchases so the least they can do is give it some basic AudioCopy functionality - something that even a good amount of FREE apps feature. Honestly, I think they moved all of their iPad development resources into their Traktor iPad app project - could be wrong though.

    Thanks for this.

People just don't understand the purpose of a forum.

    S'all good.

What's funny is the TraktorDJ app just launched and the first app they release for that product don't look like a simple sketch pad.

Is Maschine the ugly stepchild of NI?

Then what would that make all the other NI products other than Maschine and Traktor that don't even have an iOS app?

iMaschine was the very first foray into iOS for NI. The Traktor app is their very first iPad-specific iOS app. These are still early days for NI when it comes to the iOS platform. Bashing iMaschine due to unwarranted, false expectation and comparing it to tools belonging to entirely different categories of use-case scenario, is not constructive.

The Traktor iOS app shows the roadmap for imaschine I think. It's just frustrating because I like my maschine so much I need it all the time! Lol. Not really, but you know what I mean...

I hope so, its at a good prcepoint too

For me imachine is an iphone app, i dont use my iphone for music apps. I think the eventual ipad app will be a different affair...really just a basic midi sequencer that can be edited on the back end of whats alreay there would do it for me.

I bought the first few expansions that come with imaschine and the quality is there, it has the ability to sound great, i just dont finger drum ever, i only sequence.

Ok enough already" we all luv NI, their workflow slams the competition
that said, somebody in the think process is missing the proverbial point
NI give the customers something, and charge for it, they'll pay, they just
want a way to achieve their goals creatively, your honored because they
chose NI" that would be you!

iMaschine Rocks" I get NI's concept, that said, my Son is an early Maschine advocate, me from the old school, I learned and used 24 trk 2inch tape on the old studer's and the likes, I was told by my Son and his crew, get the sketch down and they'll get me up to speed on the new gear, they have Maschine, Massive and most of the Maschine Expansion set,

what make iMaschine the best app out there bar none, is its simplicity, it's not designed to replace Maschine or any other sequencer of choice it's designed to enhance.

the graphics first attracted me, then the intuitiveness, an lastly the sound, which I didn't expect to be so good ... I would have paid $20 for it, as I feel it's worth that. One of the
biggest mistakes I feel made with this platform was the price, they would hear a whole lot more appreciation if they would have charged more (human flaw) lack of appreciation. If
it's inexpensive, they think it lacks quality, WRONG! it the best app in the App Store. but it doesn't hurt or cost that much to improve on a killer concept, not necessarily in the function dept. like skinning, as colors effort ppl differently and ergonomics like a way to full screen the pads etc. but lastly a way to chop user samples, if that doesn't take place not to worry, they do a great job at the expansion lab"

Is that intentional hyperbole or just pure fandom? I qiute like iMaschine but it's a simplistic musical toy. It's for tapping. The skill involved in tapping is minimal. Even high-grade tapping is still reletively skill-free. All the stuff that goes with the tapping is equally devoid of artistic rigour.

How can you say "it's the best app in the App Store"? You're comparing apples with bananas, potatoes, warts and bulldozers.

I don't necessarily disagree with any of you in regards to the apps usefulness if you are just messing around or plan to take it home and complete the track. For these such things, iMaschine is the tool to get.

My beef is with this being that Maschine (the original) is a serious tool for serious musicians. It has wowed the industry over for all it can do. To do something like that and then to give us something as simplistic as iMaschine is a massive let down (pun intended).

I want to buy that app that allows me to make a complete track while on the go and then add the finishing touches (mixing, additional instruments, mastering, etc.) on my computer. This is available through a lot of apps that are available for iPad and iPhone.

Saying that the iPad version will have all of this is great an all but you pretty much just slapped the consumers of your product in the face.

Please don't misunderstand me, I like iMaschine. I WANT to love it.

I once tried iMaschine and I was disappointed as ****.

The App itself isn't even that bad. But paying money for it. I'd like it if it was free xD

But what makes me even more unhappy is the fact that they won't bring out anything for Android. Can't be that hard because this app isn't that deep-structured
