    No sample import?

That really kills the fun for me, I guess I'll be sticking with Beatmaker2 for awhile...

    Hello Strategy

You seem to have got some misinformation from somewhere... iMaschine *can* import samples.

    Regards

i will be sticking with BM2 because its the sickest mpc replacement outside of machine.....ON THE iPad2! but NOTHING; as much as i need Ableton grade timestretching/chopping, beats maschine 1.6 or 1.7

    GREAT JOB NI!

(now bring me that iMaschine Pro and/or Maschine iPad Controller or else! jk :p )

Thanks James, to be more specific, you can import your OWN samples? Sorry, I read everything three times and still must have missed something.
    ---
I still can't find anything on sample import other than the mention of being able to buy soundpacks. I will take James word for it though and can't wait for this!

It's like my two favorite tings, iPhone and Maschine, mixed together.

This is the most exciting product since someone accidently mixed peanut butter and chocolate!

    Hi

Yes, you can import your own samples i.e. transfer from your desktop to the iPhone.

The "KEY FEATURE" list does not list every single feature in the app of course, its just an overview...

    best

    the app sounds great! BUT

it looks like it's only an iPhone app…why on earth would you not make it a universal app in HD that works natively on the iPad also? makes no sense

+1, I'd have thought this app would have been ideal for the iPad.

I agree. The ipad is becoming (for me) the go to device for making music and the ipad version of imaschine is a must! Maybe a pro version or update for this?

Agreed! This is a very important feauture that certainly isn't common for iOS apps. I would not let this selling point go unmentioned in the "Key Feature List" if I was NI...;)

Transferring samples from desktop to phone is one (good) thing but for me the bigger question is can you import your own sounds on the device itself?

Can you import audio from your iphone music library?

or if not use audio copy/paste?

Imagine in a world where apples weren't apples and you could losslessly sample any audio playing on your iphone/ipad oohh.......

    Ths system requirements say:
    "iOS 4.3 or higher*
    iPod touch* 3G or higher
    iPhone* 3GS or higher
    iPad* 1 or 2
    "

So doesn't this mean that it's a universal app?

yes that would mean that :)

but yesterday the only specs i could find about iMaschine was that it was iphone and ipod touch compatible

they wrote: "iMASCHINE, the mobile beat-making app for your iPhone* or iPod touch*"

but this is great! looking forward to the app!

    just checked the product page:

"Runs on iPad* at iPhone screen resolution"

that is just such a disappointment :(

i know nothing about making apps for ipads or iphones...but it seems so stupid to not make the app in high resolution.

the app seem tailor made for the bigger screen on iPad so this is just weird :(

...the app seems tailor made for the smaller screen on iPhone to me!

Perhaps you're thinking of the more complicated, more featured and more expensive iPad app that will surely follow?

A lot more people have iPhones, they probably just want to get it out there ASAP and will build on it with future revisions.

Suck it up and use it in 2x mode for a few months, I'm sure they will take care of us with a Universal or iPad-specific version in due time.

That is my plan. I'm sure it's coming. It's a shame it won't be on day one though. The 2x mode is usable it just looks like crap and it's a shame to waste such a great display and screen for a blurry app. I really hope the hold up is because they're making the IPad version more in-depth and better with more options. I'd be happier waiting for that. :) Oh well, it gives me more time to get familiar with BeatMaker I guess. Speaking of which, is there a way to sample audio in the IPad? I was hoping to sample from my turntable into the IPad to use samples in iMaschine and BeatMaker but I just got it so I'm still working my way through things trying to figure it all out.
