What NI intended iMaschine to be is a mobile sketch pad for Maschine, period. It was never meant to be a full-blown integrated can-do-everything-application and they never intended for it to be used in another ecosystem such as Audiobus or Tabletop. You can sample into it and you have access to its library and expansion packs, and you can then bring that into its desktop counterpart.

NI has a successful platform with Maschine and Komplete and it only makes sense that they'll continue to build in the direction that brings continued success and minimize efforts that could jeopardize it. This is also why a company like Retronyms never implements Audiobus into any of the apps they make because they have a vested interest in protecting their own Tabletop in-app-purchase ecosystem, which is also why iMPC Pro will never support audiobus as already admitted by Retronyms.

True. But impc does support inter-app audio, as well as audio copy/paste.

Also, to respond to something you said in another thread, while Figure does not have Reason integration, it does support Audiobus and audio copy/paste. This makes sense for an ios app. That way, you don't have to use the slow iTunes file sharing method.

Personally, I use iTunes file sharing in conjunction with iMaschine often. I have moved most of the sample packs into Nanostudio by that method. I have moved the beats that I have created in iMaschine to other apps that way, as well.

I would, however, prefer an easier method. I know it's possible. In fact, if I wanted to jailbreak my iphone, I could do all of that.

But I don't want to do that and I'm not sure why NI doesn't just apply the simple solution to the problem. A pre-existing solution, by the way.

iFunbox is quick to use and generally useful to have if you have an iOS device, and doesn't need iTunes or jailbreaking.

Yeah, I have it. The only problem I have with that is that when I am away from my desktop, I can't use it.
Thanks for the reminder, though. I had forgotten that direct file transfers can take place in ifunbox without moving everything to the desktop first. It would be an easier method for sharing files out of iMaschine.
