Importing .glos into Absynth 4

I've been playing with Absynth 4 a lot so I haven't reported back. It has that kind of effect on ya, doesn't it?

Anyway, prior to the import of all the old banks I'd collected, I opened them all in Absynth 3 and went through them looking for dodgy ASCII characters in patch names and nuking them. One thing I noticed was the widespread use of leading spaces in many old patch names in order to make them more readable. Deleting all of those spaces slowed things down a bit.

However, I'm very happy to say that every bank imported perfectly as far as I can tell. There were a few cases where A4 imported "default" or "untitled" presets, but I figured out that the settings for these had been altered by the programmer and then abandoned. The .glo importer saw them as valid sounds and ushered them in.

So I now have every worthwhile Absynth bank made since Absynth 1 was released loadable in Absynth 4. And that's a hell of a lot of banks. Next up (oh my God), assigning attributes to all those patches...

Thanks for the links, werner. I think you're probably right about the bugs. I would imagine (and hope) that most of these will be addressed in 4.0.2.

Importing .glos

How long should it take to import a .glo? My Mac seems to get an endless piwheel of death whe I try to import some .glos...

 

Is it fixed yet?

 

hello boys I have inasmuch as version 4,04 of absynth 4 does not import the banks gio, I having imported previously such banks with the previous version of absynth 4 (4,02) I have saves them to you on a hd external usb 2.0 and fortunately they come correctly read from mine absynth 4,04 version mac on computer imac intel 24 with operating system leopard 10.5.1.
The banks it imports to you and read they are those of the user friends on the web ni and those of user friends kvr audio, are not successful to convert and to import previously those of the friends user of the group of yahoo absynth

 

The 4.0.4 update .glo import bug was fixed, even though the version number and release date are the same. Redownload the update.

That is a nice offer, but I would doubt that you have the rights to share these presets (which is why I have deleted your post)

With 4.0.4 now including a fix for the import bug, everyone should be able to import their .gly files I hope.

hello joakim I have version 4,04 of absynth for mac osx 10.5.1 but to me not ago to import the banks gio, does not open the import window, as I must make? I have installed king also refresh 4,04 but the window of import is not opened on my imac 24

 

hello Joakim, the banks that I had converted is all of origin to freeware without some copyritht, thought to have made one what appreciate for all the customers of absynth 4 who have problems to import the banks gio in in version 4.04

in order to import the rows gio I have had to use my copy original on
not modernized computer emac g4 ppc in version 4.02

1) As I said earlier, redownload the update. If you're using the update manager on the site instead of the Service Center, clear your browser cache first.
2) The banks in the UL as far as I know can't be redistributed without permission from the original authors. Did you write each of them and ask?

hanks ew, now I try to clean up the cache from the service center and
reinstall the update 4,04 For the banks, I knew that they were free,
and have not asked authorizations,o me they turn out of public dominion on you respect to you situated
of kvr audio, yahoo, and ni. It does not import, in the doubt you have
done good to remove the link

Yes, that's correct. You need to download the update again from the NI server. It has the same version number, but is different.
