now that there's three expert moderators in this thread, and some expert users as well (excluding those that didn't read the manual), i'd like to raise a doubt related to this particular action: importing a history playlist, from the archive node to the collection's playlist node.

everytime i do this (quite often), i see the status bar flashes with the message "updating tags". what is exactly happening at this point?

    i want to think that:

    A) traktor is reading the current tags from the files and updating the required details in the recently imported playlist.

    i hope it is not:

    B) writing outdated tags into the files.

can anybody specify exactly what is going on?

    thanks in advance, cheers.

this is exactly what the option asks for: "should traktor choose the file tags or the playlist tags" - they may differ, hence the question.

e.g. the tags of the tracks in the history playlist can be older than the actual tags of the tracks that you might have changed afterwards.

when i import from the archive node, there's no option asked, it just adds the playlist and you see the "updating tags" message in the status bar... :S

Run a test.... Set some cue points in a track - play it then close traktor.
    Re-open traktor
change the cue points - play that, close traktor
re-open traktor, import your first playlist and see if the cue points move back to the original position?

I started this thread, and can I ask mods and Traktor tips particularly to have a look at a thread I started on what appeared to be an unrelated matter, but this whole issue of accessing an archived playlist is causing any cue points I have, which are not mapped to hot cues, to suddenly remap to hot cues whenever I open an archive folder. Sounds weird, but I've tested it quite a bit, and it does it every time. For the time being, I'm steering well clear of the archive, but I'd seriously welcome anyone else's input.
