There are so many great ideas listed above, and I'd like to see most of them in the next upgrade. Most of all though I'd like to see the following added to Komplete Kontrol in Stand alone and/or DAW mode.

• The ability to mark presets as favourites.
• The ability to save user presets and snapshots.
• Keyboard split in scale mode so the lower octave plays chords and the remainder plays in scale.
  
• Mapping for logics smart controls.
• The ability to pass chord info through to a DAW so when playing a smart chord on the keyboard the whole chord is recorded in the DAW.

Most of ideas here are very interesting.

For major ones I see :

• custom mapping editor
• custom scales, chords, arps with GUI stand alone editor
• midi output with modulation/referential change possibilities : like I describe here (breaks limitations bound to initial choice of input method, prevents information/good-record loss if changing input method, eases edition workflow, opens new gates for inspiration etc.)
• ability in a custom mapping to bind a key that can set all parameters to user defined values (silent/midi or host/automation aware... don't know if doable/portable for automation record)... with option of such trigger key inside of a "keyboard layer always on top"
• KK sequensor (would be bigger work for NI)

Lots of great ideas here - I would like to see many of them implemented. I just got my S61 yesterday and agree with many of these. Unfortunately my computer died last night (don't even ask) so I can't progress with my use of the KK for now. However, I have some thoughts that I think may add to the discussion:

I don't think this has been listed, I love the scales lighting up, but I don't want the other keys to map to the nearest scale note (or be made redundant as in Easy mode) because I want the main scale guide there, but I also want to be able to hit keys that are out of the scale. So I think there should be a scale setting that lights up the scale in question but also leaves all other keys functioning normally.

I agree that KK should work as a shell around individual NI instruments, it's really quite inhibitive to be unable to use the S61 with instances of NI instruments. In addition to this I would like a KKshell that could be used for 3rd party synths etc so that I can use the light guides, arps, etc etc when using the keyboard as a midi instrument in this context. These features should be available for general use - my gosh they cost enough.

On the KK browser (could be wrong here) it seems that from the hardware controller you can't look through the file system, only the attributes system. I think both should be available.

is this really not possible? So if a chord mode is selected and then one records only the root notes are recorded? That negates most of the use of this function for me.

 

Yes, indeed we need this! I am trying to learn some Satie pieces that use many natural accidentals, and I must turn off the scale function in order to play it...

When you freeze a MIDI track in Ableton and brick it back up later, the track focus of komplete kontrol for that track is broken.
Would be nice if they'd fix it too.

 

Nice to see many specific requests. For me basic upgrade will be if NI software in standalone mode uses presets and LED system which is amazing. We also need edit capabilities to set up buttons as we like (It is almost impossible to select my favorite button from 5 or 6 pages)

thanks guys, just didn't see the search tab before. i like all the ideas so far. I also think an option to change the color of keys triggered would be nice. ex.. when using chord mode, the light guide for the keys being used would be in purple (or color of choice) instead of a brighter (lit) blue. That w/ logic smart control presets and i can go on about my life satisfied.

 

+1 for: Please find a way that i can work with my MCUs and Kontrol S at the same time

Esp. the track focus...

 

I'm enough to satisfy using KK with Komplete, however KK is incomplete as a DAW controller. Please make available to access all switch, encoder and LCD via MIDI. If realized, many programmers will support KK. This is my one and only request.
