Improvements for next release: wish list for feature requests

The only 2 feature I would want are:

Built-in QWERTY keyboard and mouse trackball.

besides saving desk space this would make production workflow so much ergonomic and easier

 

Repost as this should have been a no brainer for NI.

1) Instead of one star for favourites have the ability to select one thru five stars on the same line as the single star.
2) A Random mode in the Arp
3) A list of a few riffs that the user can select to audition plugins and presets
4) Optional scan on launch of Komplete Kontrol

 

Allow all the buttons on A-Series and M-Series to be fully functional on MIDI mode. Maschine devices and S-Series keyboards have support for this but A-Series keyboards disable many of the buttons when in MIDI mode, only allowing the user to just use the Play, Stop, Record and Loop buttons.

In standalone mode it would be great to kontrol multi instances of instruments. One Kontakt Player, one Reaktor and so on...

 

It would be great if Komplete could communicate the preset name to the host. Most of NI’s vsts do that, and it allows for hosts to rename tracks according to preset name - a big time saver when setting up sessions. Here in Ableton and Reaper:

 

Hello. I am a Komplete Kontrol plugin user and I have a feature request. But first I would like to say how great it is that Komplete Kontrol can open other plugins, not just NI plugins. And the fact that there’s a preview for each patch. That’s makes KK extremely useful! What would really take this plugin and producers workflow to the next level, would be to have a greater degree of customization. Currently KK sorts plugins by Type and Characters according to what I assume manufacturers determine. But for my workflow, it would be extremely useful to be able to sort patches into custom categories. For example, a sound I often reach for is an 80’s style pluck bass. I would like to have in a user section the ability to click on my custom “80’s Pluck Bass” category and inside will be all my favorite 80’s pluck bass patches that I’ve put in there. Since KK already previews the sounds, this would help workflow to such a great degree.

Secondly, if there was any possible way to include Ableton’s instruments in Komplete Kontrol, that would also be an enormous help. I build a lot of custom Ableton instruments and for those to pop up in KK, in my custom categories would just be incredible!

Can we please get NI to look at loading times, it seems the more I purchase nks supported libraries and my database grows, I'm being punished for it ,in terms of speed and loading times. If you want me to buy into the format, at least make it worth it, with benefits to using it!!!

 

The only presets I can preview without loading the VST plugin is SOME NI plugs. Plugins from some vendors work fine (AAS/WAVES) but I can't use the preview functionality in most plugs

Also...

1. Anything new Maschine, Komplete, Traktor, whatever...should be made to be MIDI 2.0 compliant. Don't be making hardware controllers that don't comply by the time UPS drops it off at my porch.

2. Ability to SAVE the download files in Native Access, so as to avoid re-downloading for every damned machine I have. I know this is about Komplete Kontrol and not Native Access. Don't care. NA still needs to be fixed.

 

The ability to record individual notes in chord and arp mode should be added as a standard setting. There is no occasion where you would want to only record the root note....none. We shouldn't have to create separate tracks and route stuff.

 

Hi, I would like to immediately see which corresponding plug-in I will be choosing when browsing presets (before I select one) with my MK2 keyboard. Could you therefore make it possible to somehow let users see what preset belong to which plug-in without having to choose a special plug-in first?
For example I would like all massive presets to become a little massive icon or becoming a red (or is it a brown product color actually?) coat of paint (color in the background). Otherwise maybe on the left side the plug-in could just become a yellow border to see which plug-in the preset belongs to. I do not really like having to load a preset first in order to see which plug-in it belongs to. And I neither like to select the plug-in first in order to see what presets belong to this kind of plug-in. Please find a solution to immediately show which plug-in will be loaded after loading a preset but make the plug-in visible before the preset gets loaded... Hope you may invent this idea!

 

Oh man, #4. Why isn't this possible already? Seems like a huge oveersight for a keyboard platform that's supposed to be live-oriented.

 

I just read the rest of your list. All are needed by live performers, especially those who hold down a lot of parts in a band.

Someone else suggested this on this thread, but to make sure this gets some repeat expression:

The ability for Midi Templates to receive or respond to program change messages.

This would be powerful for live players who have multizone arrangements on their S88, S61 etc. that they want to access and switch to quickly, especially when using an external VST host that uses Komplete plugins. I use Cantabile in particular and would like to send program changes to the S88 to switch templates to match my Cantabile songs and racks.

 

re-arrange plugins order on the komplete kontrols s-series screen ..
for example if i usually use trk-01 mostly then i would love to see it on the top of plugins .. why i have to scroll the knob so much to reach for it??
