IN APP PURCHASE IDEAS

Someone else posted 'rolling loop'. It's a bit like beat masher. But imagine if you had it played out in sections of 1/8 1/4 1/2 and 1 rather than swiping your finger over an x/y pad , or setting an encoder on the s2 which is what I do now .

 

Keep the ideas coming everyone!! fixes aside let's get some more ideas based direction flowing for them. Simplicity is the key for in app purchases.

p.s. - don't mean to sound so 'question-y" but you said: "setting an encoder on the s2 which is what I do now" - would you mind elaborating on that method? Are you meaning applying an effect and filter to create the bounce loop effect?

 

Hi, you have the four fx knobs per deck on the s2. I assign the beat masher to one. This is like the rolling loop fx but in a 'dial' version.

 

My s2 is going in for repair , so I'm now using my z1 instead. Ive lost alot of loop control. It would be great if you could un lock better loop control on the iPad via a purchase.
In the same slots where the cue points are, couldn't they double up as loop control boxes ? Trying to set up loop with your fingers is hit or miss on the fly. Just imagine if the the cue section gave u the clear access to loop and rolling loop settings. I'd pay for that.

 

Djay has a deal with sugabytes for their in app effects (and not via audiobus). Why couldn't Traktor strike a similar deal (for example) with Camel audio? - camel space and phat. They're good effects for daws. I'd also love to unlock a white noise generator - whooshes for build ups and break downs. I use my koass pad and samplr iPad app for this at the moment. Cross dj for iPad has it , called bliss - Obv' you have to pay for it which I did on both the apps I mentioned.

 

Dj skins...alot of apps went red last week to raise awareness for world aids day. How come Traktor didn't take part ?

A simple effective idea is an in app purchase of skins. Djs do love to pimp their gear up , there's a whole industry dedicated to it now out there.

 

How about an in app purchase to unlock better audiobus functionality? So Traktor + audiobus + controller will all work together.

 

In app purchase that unlocks PITCH BEND. dj player / Djay have it already.

In app purchase that unlocks 4 deck mixing. Dj player / meta dj has it. (Meta dj did it over 2 years ago). The iPad air can handle it so it makes sense that it's in app.

To everyone who thinks the the technology isn't there yet.....it is!!! , I tested and dj'd two FULL nights last weekend with meta dj - with only my fingers on the iPad. My iPad air 2 handled four deck mixing or 3 deck with Upto10 4x4 sample loops (that I created as wav files) .Everything ran smoothly all simultaneously. If you don't believe me get an iPad air and try it.........

Seriously - my ipad is much stronger than my 2012 laptop. There are no arguments like it needs a better cpu etc., same like there is no excuse why there is not such feature.
Definitely something I'd pay for....

 

Sad but true... Moreover when I got a feeling they are uninterested in everything else than s8 because someone thinks that's what moves the world..
I like the idea of the DJ Player and its functionality is great - I already have this one. I only wish it has more ergonomic UI - the current one is somehow confusing and not eye pleasing...
Simply having the traktor's frontend or traktor the dj player's backend and I am more than happy

 

I don't think this would be possible without cooperation between Mixcloud and NI, and I have no clue how easy or hard it would be to implement, but I'd like to put it down anyways: I was listening to one of mixes on mixcloud last night; I make long mixes, a single track may play for 8 - 16 bars only, then the two tracks mix together and run out until the next ambient breakdown for 8 -16 bars when the single track is played, rinse and repeat for an hour. While I was looking at my mixcloud, it gave an inaccurate description of what was playing; it listed the proper track when I would bring it in, but it was inaccurate in the fact that while two tracks were playing, only most recent track name was being displayed. My thought is: how hard would it be to display both tracks on the mixcloud page, for the duration of when they are playing. something along the lines of: [track 1] | [track 2]

 

I've actually discussed 4 decks with support. They claim it's impossible in iOS. pointed out the other apps doing it they got extremely pissy and short with me. I also requested the spectrum wave form. Once again they said it was impossible. So I pointed out that Djay2 does it.

Basically NI is viewing Traktor DJ as something to not advance very far, because it will cut into Traktor Pro sales. I tried to point out that was exactly the opposite. That it can and will actually bring in new customers to Traktor Pro. I tried to explain that the hardware is quite capable and that it's actually more reliable than a lot of laptops and that through in app purchases they could easily make the same amount as Traktor Pro. They ended the support ticket.

Anyway here is what I would like to see in in app purchases:
4 decks ( **** even just a 3rd deck ) iPad Pro will have plenty screen real estate and memory for this
remix decks iPad Pro will have plenty screen real estate and memory for this
sample deck iPad Pro will have plenty screen real estate and memory for this
multi controller support example, S2 and two F1's or Z2 and two F1's ( Z2 is perfect for this since it has usb hub built in )
colored key info for quick in key song selection
effects remain active even when track in deck has been changed ( so that you can use things like beatmasher to smoothly transition two tracks )
ability to stack FX without controller
controller mapping (which leads to 3rd party controller use )
12 cue points
Beats streaming integration ( Like DJay2 has Spotify integration ) this one is important until storage gets upward of 1Tb

 

Cory I would pay for all those in app ideas !! Forget the s8 , it's a brick with no future. TDJ can do it all and u know it .
