My system is a 1.5ghz singl AMD with 1.25 RAM, 120g HD and 200g HD (holding my EW Samples)

I'm using Cubase sx2 and the EW Choir and EW Silver Ochestra. With most of my VST's, the response is fantastic, however, these two seem to be slow on the trigger. My MIDI works fine, I'm using the Echo Layla, I just don't think that the sampler is responding quick enough.

Any suggestions to get a closer to real time response during recording?

    Solved!

    Okay,

So after I took a break from hours of frustration trying to compose music with a slow response, it dawned on me what it could be. I went back to Cubase>Device Setup>VST Multitrack and changed the AISO Driver to AISO Echo WDM.

The MIDI signal was being routed in through the Echo Layla thru Cubase to the Synths. The sound was then sent from the Synth to the Creative Labs soundcard. This was causing the 1.5 sec delay.

With the change I just described, I can use headphones or an adapter to connect speakers to the Echo Layla and have no delay in sound.

I hope this helps anyone having a similar problem.
