it would be SO cool for live performing to be able to lock a Sound in the screen (i.e. a Synth or FX) so its knobs are available ALL the time. Despite pads or buttons pressed.

"MUTE screen" should have a 'ghost' mode, that does not show at all. So you do basic things like i.e.: keep opening a filter and at the same time un-muting a sound (without interrupting the tweak!).

What I do all the time : playing main theme on one group on Maschine MK2, and planning next scene with my Jam.
Of course, doing so, I disable/able a pattern of another group, it changes the group on my MK2 too.
Every time it does it, I hate my Jam so much !!!

I just bought a Jam, knowing they were discontinued and would not receive any more updates, because the price was right, and because I wanted a hardware option to manage patterns and scenes while jamming at the same time.

For background, I'm new to electronic music production, although I have a background in live acoustic performance. I grabbed a Mikro Mk3 in April 2020 and upgraded that to the Mk3 in August. I had been using an Akai249 controller alongside, decided to sell that and grab a used S25 MK1 in January of this year. Just got the Jam TODAY. So all in I now have an MK3, a Jam, and an S25, all running in Maschine standalone. I don't use any other DAW at all.

Anyway, my solution for this problem is just to press the instrument group button on jam with my thumb just after changing patterns, almost like a shift click. It's pretty easy to do in one motion, and I'm able to rip solos with my right hand and switch drum patterns within a single scene using my left with no issues really. Also note that if you really need fluidity, the controller does not change focus when switching scenes, so you can always set your patterns how you like in different scenes as you're setting up the jam live, then start doing your improvisation and switching scenes as needed. If you're really looking for a live flow, just duplicate scenes rather than adding new, and you can stack up and arrange patterns with no interruption.

As for multiple instruments, I just assign focus for a group of sounds manually to a midi device, and then mute/unmute sounds as needed. So my live jamming setup for this thing I'm jamming now is MK3 set to auto focus, used for drums and 16 pad lead solos, S25 used for pads and organs, I have 3 or 4 sounds all assigned to receive midi only from the S25, with all but one sound muted at any given time so I can change as needed. Jam now gives me easy access to channel controls like volume right on the hardware, I can add perform fx and manipulate multiple channels at once, and I can change and add patterns easily enough.

I'm a little sad that we won't see updates, but I knew that going in, so my mindset is to start thinking of easy workarounds to these problems. Tapping the group you need quickly after switching patterns seems easier than running multiple instances through a daw and trying to deal with all that routing and software integration, but that's why I've been so hesitant to get into digital audio to begin with. I just want to jam.

I would like to buy S61, but the lack of this feature is keeping me from doing so.

Huge oversight... Call your senator and let them know today! I mean support agent.. What's the best way to keep the pressure on NI to develop this? Anyone ever seen them comment on it?

Surprised this is not done yet, should have been introduced with the KK keyboards.
