Well, I've narrowed it down to 2 sound cards. In the next couple of days I am gonna have to buy one of em. Is one better than the other?

if you use search for gigaport and indigo you will see some previous threads where comparison of the two is raised.
    hope this helps

I'm working off a gigaport at present but going to upgrade to an indigo DJ in a couple of months for lower latency and the virtual intregration with other aural apps.

It's best if the notebook computer does not use the ENE chipset for the PCMCIA card slot if you go with the Indigo DJ. Most laptops do not use the ENE chip so you are probably safe. Also there is a software driver update that will make the ENE work but it's preferable to just not have the ENE chip.

Use Control Panel to check the PCMCIA port adapter - it will say what controller chip type is used.

I had bad experiences with the gigaport - audio crackling after random periods of 1-3 hours. Looked like a driver issue (under WinXP). Switched to the indigo and it went without a hitch. No hangups, no hassle, extremely small device.

    Cheers, h00la

How is the sound quality of your Indigo? I now have a laptop on loan and am again testing the Indigo DJ.

The Indigo software is a bit confusing. I'm not sure I have mine running optimally.
