    Do it like this;

Install K4 and do your updates. Run them all in standalone and rebuild your databases where appropriate.

Install KORE from the DVD. You'll have an option to have the installer replace the plugin versions of your other NI plugins; say no. Install the 1.1 update.

Now, start KORE. Scan your plugin folder and rebuild your database. Done.

Hello. I was hoping to get some clarification on the above install instructions written by ewistrand. I am about to install Kore + Komplete 4 Upgrade on a totally clean Mac OS X 10.4.9 install, but wanted to get a little clarification before I dive in.

Question 1) These instructions say that Komplete should be installed before Kore, will that be possible since I have an Upgrade version of Komplete? Will it need to see Kore on my system first?

Question 2) If it is possible to install Komplete before Kore, is it possible to just not install/use Kore at all? I'm considering using only Komplete until the Kore 2 software is released.

I posted this question in the Kore forum but realized that this probably is better suited to the installation forum.

    Thanks for any replies...

    Doug

    Hello Doug,

the advice from EW is related to the Kore 1.0 installation disk. There are also Kore 1.1 installation disks available where no Komplete plugins are installed and therefore the order of installation does not matter.

The most important thing to take care of is, that you have the most current plugins installed at the end. You can also make this sure by applying the latest update for each product at the very end of the installation process. The latest updates are available in the Update Manager.

    1) It does not matter if you have a Komplete 4 "update" or "full" version.

    2) Yes, you can just install Komplete without Kore. However, considering that you have just to make sure to have the latest plugins installed, the installation process should not be too complicated.

Thanks for your repsonse Marius. It looks like I got a Kore 1.0 install disc. I followed those directions and have updated to Kore 1.1 but my Komplete 4 will not fully activate, for whatever reason 3 of the programs I have less interest in activated but the rest did not. I called support and they tried to help but ended the call by saying they would get back to me in a day or 2. Really disappointing that a paying customer can't get past the copy protection without days of waiting and calls to customer support. And since I'm on an Intel Mac I can't update the programs to UB.:(

Ok, so I was told by support that although it might take a few days to get my activation issue resolved, I could at least run the programs in demo mode for up to 30 days.

How do I do this? I open a program, say Reaktor or GR2, and I either get a message about my system ID has changed, or that the product has not been activated and it asks me if I want to open Service Center. If I say NO nothing happens. If I say YES, it opens Service Center and tells me "error can not activate" This sucks.

    Hi Doug,

I guess you were in phone contact with our office in LA? I would like to accelerate the process but could not find any information about your support case. If it can not be solved today, it would be great if you could write a registration support request here:

    http://www.native-instruments.com/index.php?id=regsuppfrm_us

Please add a short description of the problem you have and add the activation request file as a ZIP attachment. This way I can try to solve the problem immediately and provide you with an activation return file as soon as the issue is solved.

Marius, thanks for trying to get this taken care of today... hopefully it works out. I filled out the form and sent it. I'm surprised the LA office didn't enter my info, they said they would be in contact with you about my issue. Please let me know if there is anything else you need from me.

Hi Marius, just wanted to let you know that my issue has been fixed. I decided to call Germany support and Sara was able to get it working in jsut a few minutes! It appeared that I should not have followed the advice in my original post, even though I had a Kore 1.0 install disc. Sara said I should have installed Kore before Komplete. Anyway, thanks for your help and feel free to close my open support ticket on this issue.

    Thanks,

    Doug

Thanks for posting back, Doug- I was wondering about the install sequence with the bundle deals myself. I'll add it to the sticky in the KORE forum.

    Hi Doug,

I'm doing a format for my mac for the third time now, and would really like to get it right this time. Could you tell us what sara said on the phone? Should you install both kore 1.0 and 1.1 before komplete?

    Or is it:

    Kore 1.0
    Komplete 4
    Kore 1.1
    Komplete updates

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi ruoma,

there are several ways to achieve a working installation. As a thumb of rule you might consider this:

    - Install everything and update everything to the latest version.

    - Activate all products.

This can be done in the following order, for example:

    - Install Kore 1.0.

    - Install Kore 1.1.

    - Install Komplete 4.

    - Update all products contained in Komplete 4.

    - Activate everything via Service Center.

    - During the activation you will probably need to enter new serial number for the following products (depending on the Komplete 4 box you have):

Vokator, Spektral Delay, Pro-53, Elektrik Piano.

These serial number can be requested from the "What's this" readme file next to the updates in the Update manager.

Note: I strongly recommend to update from the Update Manager on our website for these four products, since the readme in Spektral Delay will not show the serial number request urls as clickable links.
