I just got a new computer and pulled out my old DVDs from Komplete 5 and 7 and the installers no longer work on the latest version of Mac OSX.

Is it safe to assume that there is really no way to access this data anymore? I was hoping to grab a few legacy products off of them, like Pro-53, but if there is no way, should I just throw them away?

Well. Couple things. The newest OSX does not like 32bit applications very much. So, you can try using diff. Hard drive and install something like el capitan with old installers perhaps working for that drive. Of course if you have modern mac where you cannot easily swap drives, you can do external boot drive with older os installed.

You may be able to get installers to work by disabling the new protection features temporarily in OSX, and that worked with Sierra, but might not with Mojave.

My Auto Sampler software will not run on anything later the el capitan, so i have to boot into backup drive to use that.

Not sure that helped, just some food for thought. You might need to install via service center and perhaps put in your serial numbers there to do new diwnloads...not sure that works, but worrh try. So, perhaps see if latest service center download from website will install....not native access.

Also, some of the older stuff not worrh saving. The uhe prophet emulation much better than pro53. Standalone pianos were moved into kontakt, etc.

Seems like there should be a compatibility support doc someplace for each version of komplete.

Thanks man. That sounds like a lot of work, I think it may be time to put the old DVDs out to pasture. Thankfully, NIs update versions of Komplete don’t require having any of my old NI stuff installed.

What I was really after was the old Battery 3 drum library, which thankfully NI was kind enough to archive the disc images for, so I was able to convert them over to Battery 4.

Yeah, I always feel weird about throwing out old software (in case I need it for some reason), but if it can’t be installed I think that’s a sign it’s safe to get rid of it.

Yes! I did finally delete B3 since it didnt work anymore and the lbs work with B4 ... so sounds like you are on right track. Same with absynth...newer version opens older files.

    I kinda
Iked fm7 better than fm8. Frankly the arturia dx fm thing much better...

I have been debating putting old disks and manuals on ebay sans serial number in case somebody is trying to resurrect an old WinXP or Mac LION box or something .... feel bad recycling these, too !
