Installing BCD3000 to dj only computer

Hi Guys,

I stopped using my bcd3000 a few months back as kept on dieing on me mid set, got so hacked off with it.

I have recently purchased a new laptop for work (running vista, which from what i can see is awful for the bcd3000). I now have a dell latitude d600 - just to use as my djing laptop.

Question is how am i best to set it up ? i plan to do a fresh install of xp - what drivers should i use - just the standard dell ones? - should I install the latest xp service pack / updates or just run the computer as is from install ?

with it being a laptop purely for djing wasn't going to bother installing wifi / modem drivers etc... in an attempt to get the best performance from the bcd. are there other settings i should adjust too ?

I would also love to use the bcd3000 with timecoded vinyl - i believe that this is possible - can i do this with traktor pro - or is it only software such as mixvibes / virtual dj pro - and if so - which provides the best results ?

For optimizations of Windows have a search here in the forum. But some hints: WLAn off, Antivir off, Firewall off, USB root hubs disable energy saving option, disable ACPI conform control method battery...

Using timecode vinyls is not possible with Traktor Pro and the BCD, you need Traktor scratch and certified hardware for this. So the only solution would be mixvibes or another software.

thanks for info - its running really well, however i have one issue

the headphone cue is working fine, and i can listen ot teh track in the headphones - however when i come to cue it and use the scratch wheel to find the cue point, theres no audio as i search with it. so i have to use the waveform to work out where to set the cue point.

any idea how to fix this ?
