I've been stuck several days with installing Komplete Ultimate 8. Service Center showed that I needed many updates and so I downloaded them. I am at a dead-end just trying the first few. Here's a list of the updates that Service Center downloaded:

    • Battery 3 Artist Kits 2 Setup.exe
    • Battery 3 Artist Kits Setup.exe
    • Battery 3 Update for Komplete Sound 2.txt
    • Battery 3 Update for Studio Drums .txt
    • Battery 3 Update for Synthetic Drums 1.txt
    • Battery 3 Update for Synthetic Drums 2.txt
    • Berlin Concert Grand 1.4.0 Setup PC.exe
    • Control Editor 1.4.5 Setup PC.exe
    • George Duke Soul Treasures 1.2.0 Setup PC.exe
    • Guitar Rig Pro Library for Maschine Setup PC.exe
    • Kontakt 5 5.0.3 Setup PC.exe
    • Kontakt Factory Library 1.0.1 Setup PC.exe
    • Reaktor 5 5.6.2 Setup PC.exe
    • Reflector_Manual_English.pdf
    • Upright Piano 1.4.0 Setup PC.exe
    • Vienna Concert Grand 1.4.0 Setup PC.exe

    My problems:
    1) The Battery text files state things like "Copy the "B3 Studio Drums Kits" folder from this update into your "Studio Drums" folder." Well, there is no "Studio Drums" folder on my hard drive. I have no idea what to do.

    2) The Battery Artist Kits set up program wants to put the kits in C:\Program Files (x86)\NativeInstruments\Battery 3 Library\Artist Kits, but I already have an Artist Kits directory in Documents\Battery 3 Library. Should I overwrite that directory?

    3) Berlin Concert Grand setup program displays this error: "No program found under the registered installation path. Either move the library back to its original location or re-install the library before running this update. I haven't done any moving of libraries and have no idea what to do.

So, I gave up installing any more updates since these first few were a dead end.

Please help. I would like to start using this expensive software but either my initial installation was bad or these updates are bogus.
    ---

    EDIT:

    It gets worse...
I chose the default directory names when I installed. All the libraries are installed in
c:\users\myname\documents. When I started Kontakt, it says it can't find the library files because it is looking in c:\users\public\documents.

Do I have go through each library and tell Kontakt where they are? Are do I need uninstall all of Komplete U8, and re-install with the libraries in a different place?

I followed the installation directions without changing the defaults? Why has my installation gone so bad?

I've been trying to figure this out for a few days and I'm starting to get a sinking feeling that I threw a lot of money into something that is too difficult to install much less make music with. HELP!

    Thanks!

Well, I resolved this issue, finally. I uninstalled Komplete U8 and re-installed it but put the libraries in a directory of my choosing (c:\ni\libraries). That resolved all of the error messages I was getting.

I read in another post that the Battery 3 updates do not apply to Komplete Ultimate 8. That statement didn't come from NI, but I assume that the forum member knows their stuff.

So just ignored the folder-updates (Synthetic Drums 1, ...)?
