I've added a note about installing with the new K4 upgrade/KORE bundle to the first post in this thread.

yes I am sorry...I should have provided detailed informations in order to receive precised solutions.....I saw your note and I am reinstalling form a fresh HD Image....so my understanding is:

    Install Kore
Install Komplete 4 and all libraries
Start every instruments as standalone and rebuilt database for each
Start Kore and scan the VST folder in Native where all my plugins shoul be
Rebuilt database......takes a very long time...
Close application and reboot.....then start Kore again and I should see all my plugins

You missed a step. Update all the Komplete apps that have updates. Run them all as standalones. Reboot when done.

THEN, start KORE and scan your plugins/build your database. KORE 1.1 needs the updated versions of Absynth, Battery, and FM8.

what is the differences between C:/program files/Native Instruments/Sample Libraries and .....C:/ program files/common files/Native Instruments/shared content/sounds ?.........When I check the path to the sound for each stand-alone instrument, should it be directed to the 1st location or the second ?

The only apps that use the sample libraries path are the ones that use large sample libraries; Akoustik Piano, Battery, Elektrik Piano and Kontakt. Those should have the path to the specific library named in the options. The exception there is Kontakt; there I'd use the custom folder option in the options menu and have the sample libraries path without the subfolder as the one named.

The shared content/sounds location's used by Kore and the new apps for factory content. With Absynth and FM8 (and Massive if you have it), use that path- it's the default for a reason. For Kore, use the defaults.

    OK, erm. . .

I've been keeping quiet lately (although the Kore 2 release did tweak me a bit, but with enough work-arounds, Kore 1.1 usually behaves long enough for me to do what I'm doing now. . . )

But, after having done that installation hair-tearing out, even were the installation procedure for Kore and Komplete 4 documented clearly, that's one hell of an installation process.

Is it possible that Kore 2's new database design might clean that up a little? or at least reduce the number of times one has to repair the database by engaging in that incredibly long, incredibly attention-intensive installation process?

By the way, while I'm a bit miffed about Kore's idiosynchosies, and unhappy with the way the database goes all looey from time to time, with a full installation, upgrade (to only the latest posted upgrade, I finally learned), run, log-off, run Kore process; I have to admit, the libraries and applications themselves rock!

    Welcome =)

Are you talking about during the KORE install? You should be entering your serial number during the original install from the DVD.

What platform? Did you have the demo previously installed?

    Hi Ewistrand,

well not installed any demo before

and I can´t enter a serial during the whole install process - thats why I am really wondering - as I always had to do when installing, komplete 3+4 and massive - really strange

I must say maybe that I use a new notebook with Vista - but I dont think this is a vista problem at all

I can try service center but after importing activation it always tells me that my serial number is not valid - sure as I could never enter it anywhere

on which step of the install normally the serial entry appears?

In the very beginning, right after you agree to the EULA.

I have no clue as to what's going on with this one; let me write a couple people.

    Hello Carsten,

this problem is also new to me. Did you maybe disable UAC (User Account Control) under Vista? This currently causes problems with the activation status of our software and might also have to do with the problem you experience.

    Hi Marius,

well I don´t know as that Vista was already pre-installed

let me check that when I am at home - where can I activate that?

Considering that yours is the first report of that issue that either Marius or I've seen, I doubt the problem's in the installer. I'm thinking along the same lines as Marius is here; that it's tied into user accounts.

If you haven't submitted an activation/installation support request, please do so. And, keep me posted as to what happens; I've got a feeling this is going to pop up again sometime.

You'd have to ask support that. Legally, they're the only people who could do so.

Anybody else doing so would break both the EULA and every copyright law in the EU and US that I'm aware of.

after grabbing the newest Service Center Edition (v110) it worked and just asked me for my serial number before creating the activationrequest file.

So it seems like I already purchased a newer KORE version like NI customer service told me...

I also dont got the problem with the rest of komplete4 synths being overwriten with older versions - my newest updates are still working

I will test that tonite - but it seems to work :)

    thx

Ah... I was wondering if the newest SC would do that, since it allows you to put in serial numbers.

Glad you got it sorted =)

Hi, I'm new in here and I've just purchased Komplete 4 + KORE 1...

There seems to be a lot of things jumping around on this thread, so I'll try to be as clear as possible:

    Can I try method 1:

    a) install all of Komplete 4 from the CD
    b) download the updates for the Komplete 4 Package + Install

    c) Install KORE 1
    d) download the updates for KORE 1 + install

    Simple enough?

or can should I try method 2:

    a) install all of Komplete 4 from the CD
    b) download the updates for the Komplete 4 Package + Install
    c) Now Copy all the files and paste it into a temp location

    d) Install KORE 1
    e) download the updates for KORE 1 + install

    f) Now move the files from step c) above back its location (to reset the damage KORE has done)

    g) Run KORE

    or Method 3:

    a) Install KORE first as described in Method 1
    b) And then after, install Komplete 4 as describe in Method 1

    c) Run KORE

Which way shall I go? Team?

    Elec.

If you have to go through all that to use Kore then why bother?
