    I must admit. My reply does seem a bit too much.

    Sorry.

    Hi.

    I just went thru an install on a new machine with some success. What I did follows your Method 1 pretty much. It was as follows:

    (I'm *pretty sure* this is what I did...)

    1-Installed Kore 1.0...did not launch or activate.

    2-Installed Komplete 4 from DVDs. Did not launch or activate plugins at this point.

    3-Downloaded All plugin updates (including Kore 1.1)

    4-Installed all plugin updates and launched them and activated them. Except for KORE...and Kompakt and Intakt of course (no Intel Mac installers). Also updated/rebuilt databases (like in Kontakt) where needed.

    6-Installed Kore 1.1 update.

    *****NOTE: I think it was EW who suggested moving the plug-ins folder with the latest plugin versions somewhere else before Installing Kore 1.1. I honestly meant to, but forgot to do so. I was terrified. However, when I checked the version numbers of many of my plugs, it does not look like Kore 1.1 updater overwrote the plug-ins. ****

    7- Launched and activated Kore. Rebuilt database.

    Everything except Kontakt and Intakt are running smoothly as far as I can tell. (Kontakt and Intakt are not supported on MacIntel.)

    My question concerns activation of the Komplete 4 upgrade (from Kore or 2 other qualifying NI products). I want to ensure my activation of Komplete 4 is tied to Kore (not my other two NI apps, Guitar Rig2 and B4 II). This is because the upgrade policy clearly states that the upgrade ties Komplete 4 to what you are upgrading it from (in my case, I want to tie Komplete 4 to Kore, not GR2/B4II).

    Please advise how I can specify/handle this during production activation of Komplete 4.

    Regards and thanks,

    David O'Hearn

    I'd post this question in the product activation forum if I were you. I really don't know the answer.

    So, I'm assuming that the above steps are true for installing Kore with Komplete 5 as well.
    This is my first keyboard purchase since the days of the Juno, and while i'm wowed with the sound, i am really dissapointed with the quality and ease of the install and i would really appreciate it if someone from NI would walk me through the complete sequence. I am not a computer novice but am new the au/vst/software instrument world, so seriosly, start at ground zero.
    I currently have a new macbook pro, komplete 4 and 5, and Kore. I was using komplete 4 and upgraded to 5, i still own both, and i would like to keep the vocoder and delay though.
    So with that in mind, where do i start. I get komplete installed fine but then i install kore and new folders are created, the stuff in kontakt 3 doesn't show up and its a total mess and a time sink (3 days and counting) to the point that i was about ready to return it all and just get logic studio, although i know its not nearly as cool.
    So if someone from NI could walk me step through step from uninstalling everything, reinstalling 5, where to put the librarys etc ( ihave space for everything on my computer) but saving vocoder and delay, which stuff specifically to copy (the apps, the librarys, specific files?) and does it just need to be copied or physically duplicated at another spot on the drive, what to do with kore, and then what to do after. and is there away to get kore not to list all the old sounds that i don't have.
    I really want to keep this stuff, but KORE and KOMPLETE 5 don't seem to really go together which seems crazy at that price point..

    Kore was originally designed around Komplete 3. Everything since then's been an add-on or update, and Kontakt 3's stuff isn't in Kore yet.

    Make sure that Vokator and Spektral Delay are at their latest versions (1.2.0 for Vokator and 1.6.0 for Spektral Delay). You'll also want to have Kontakt 2 at its latest version for use in Kore as it sits at the moment (that version's 2.2.3). Komplete 5 has the latest versions of everything else (besides kontakt 3- that's at 3.0.1).

    Run all the products in standalone, rebuilding databases and locating libraries where necessary.

    Uninstall Kore, and reinstall it. Don't let Kore install any plugin versions or replace your Reaktor library; the latest versions of all the plugins are newer than the ones in Kore.
    Update to Kore 1.1.

    Now, start Kore in standalone. Rescan your plugins and rebuild your database. Done.

    OK... let's make it even easier... or maybe not easier, but you will start with a clean slate;

    I presume you've registered Komplete 4. Download the Spektral Delay, Vokator and Kontakt updates I mentioned. Each of them uses a new serial number, so you won't need to install Komplete 4 at all.

    Uninstall Komplete 4, 5 and Kore. If you're on a Mac, follow the guidelines given here;

    http://www.nativeinstruments.de/index.php?id=niosxtut2

    If you're on Windows, after the uninstall, delete any folders you find named Native Instruments. You'll find them in My Documents, C:/Program Files/Common Files, and wherever you had the main install. You can leave the sample libraries where they are if you want; this will save you time during the reinstall.

    Turn on "show hidden files and folders" in Windows view menu, and go to Documents and Settings/*your user account*/Local Settings/Application Data and delete the Native Instruments folder there as well.

    To be on the safe side, I'd delete anything left in the registry as well.

    WARNING: ALWAYS BACKUP YOUR REGISTRY AND MAKE A SYSTEM RESTORE POINT BEFORE EDITING YOUR REGISTRY!

    Fire up regedit (start/run/regedit). Delete the following key;

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Native Instruments

    Now, install Kore. Update it to 1.1. Don't run it yet.

    Install your K4 apps (Kontakt 2, Spektral Delay and Vokator) from the update installers I mentioned earlier. Now, install Komplete 5. Activate everything.

    Run everything in standalone and rebuild databases and check library paths.

    Now, start Kore. Scan your plugins and rebuild your database.

    As to how to get Kore 1 not to list the products you don't have, the easiest way is to delete the folders containing those sounds. On a Windows machine, it's:

    C:/Program Files/Common Files/Native Instruments/Shared Content/Sounds/*the app's name*

    Mac:

    Library/Application Support/Native Instruments/Shared Content/Sounds/*the app's name*

    EW, thanks, that all seems much easier.
    Couple questions.
    So I download the vokator, kontact 2 and spectral delay updaters and then erase everything (including those three apps themselves?) The updaters then reinstall the apps, what about the library's? Do i need to use my komplete 4 discs at all (they are registered).
    In terms of the komplete 5, does everything install from the komplete 5 installer prompts or do i need to drag and drop any librarys? What i had been doing was creating a folder in applications on my mac hard drive and placing everything from the komplete 5 installer prompts in there.
    I'm starting in on this tonight, will let you know how it goes.
    How much work is it going to be to update to kore 2 when it comes out?

    The libraries for Spektral Delay and Vokator are included with the installers. For Kontakt 2, you'll need your K4 library discs (or just keep your sample libraries as I mentioned earlier).

    Everything else will install from the K5 installer prompts. The one exception is presets for Kontakt 3 (.nkis, effects presets and the like- somehow they went missing from the Mac K5 installer); they're available in the Service Center as is the 3.0.1 update for Kontakt.

    Kore 2 is out (unless you're waiting for the hardware); it was released last Thursday. It won't take much at all to get running there; just install and run it in standalone to let it build the database.

    I just sent in my grade period update form, so should have kore 2 soon. Any reason not to upgrade to kore 2 from kore 1?

    also, any tips on installing kore 2 with komplete 5, vokator and spektral delay. Pretty much the same steps as before, then install kore 2?

    hey ew,
    how do i get the new serial numbers for vokator and spektral delay. I have komplete 4 but that serial number doesn't work. I reinstalled them from the updaters, not the komplete 4 discs.
    Everything else seems to be working and i just recieved kore 2.
    Help!

    In the Service Center, you should have a request new serial number prompt. Use that...

    i don't have that prompt in the service center. I did a complete clean uninstall, then just reinstalled those two from the updaters. I did not install komplete 4 at all.

    Hmm... let me ask about this. I probably won't have an answer until sometime tomorrow, though.

    Oh... try this.

    Log in on the updates page;

    http://www.nativeinstruments.de/index.php?id=updates

    Have it show all updates. You should see a request serial number for both Spektral Delay and Vokator. Click on the "what's this?"; it'll bring you to a link to request the serial number.

    another problem, i just went to activate kore 2 and it won't activate because it says "no qualifying base product is registered"
    I own kore 1 as well and am using that base. I completely removed kore 1 from my system prior to the reinstall of komplete. How do i get this to register/activate?
