I created a bunch of instrument banks in Kontakt, and I'm trying to setup a little script in Cubase to create keyswitches to switch between the instruments in the instrument banks.

I am doing this via the Transformer in Cubase, which I am loading on the MIDI tracks as a MIDI insert effect. When I do the keyswitch (as per the Transformer), every instrument bank in Kontakt switches. Obviously, I want it so that only the active track switches. I do have the Cubase tracks MIDI output set correctly (not to "all").

Below is an image of the Transformer commands in Cubase I have so far. Could anyone help me with this? Thank you very much!

Make sure not all the K2 instruments are set to omni midi channel... and make sure only the desired instrument Bank is set to ch 1 (per your screen shot of Cubase).

    Hope this helps

Both the Cubase and Kontakt channels are set to a specific number, not "omni" or "all. When I insert a simple program change in a Cubase track, it also changes EVERY instruent bank in Kontakt.

Does anyone else have any ideas why Cubase would be transmitting program changes on EVERY channel when it is not set to do so?

I don't know: I often have problems getting things like this to go smoothly. I'm not sure if it's a Cubase or Kontakt thing. I'll give this a try now that I have Konakt 2.

Thanks. It seems no matter what I try this happens. Even if I insert a program change in the MIDI track, every single instrument bank in Kontakt changes. It's rather frustrating.

I have just test K2 in energyXT, I can send seperate MIDI program change messages to each MIDI channel, and the corresponding K2 Instrument-Bank responds properly, so it is clearly some problem with Cubase ...

If you cannot solve the problems with Cubase, you can use energyXT as a Instrument-Plugin inside Cubase, then place e.g. MidiXbar and K2 inside energyXT ...
