I have problems with distorted instruments out of tune. Is sounds better when I use headphones, but in speakers it sounds really distorted and out of tune as this: http://snd.sc/OMwjJU

I run Komplete 8 on external disk through Logic on iMac OSX Lion. What shall I do?, it's just complete useless as this.

You can retune individual instruments by moving the Tune knob in the instrument interface. Shift-drag the knob if you want to fine-tune.

I listened to your SoundCloud link but it's not entirely clear what you're referring to. The tubular bells (chimes) often sound out of tune -- that's just the way the instrument works.

The brass (esp. horns) sounds a little out of tune; I would tune that up.

thanks for answer, but I think it has something to do with my midi-keyboard. Sounds good when I play with the keyboard in Kontakt 5, but when playing on the midi keyboard it sounds distorted and out of tune.

Hard to diagnose without hearing it. Can you post some audio?

There's two possibilities. One is that it's tricking your mind. You say it sounds fine when you play with the keyboard in Kontakt 5 -- but if you're doing that, you're listening to each instrument isolated and you're playing single notes -- making it very hard to reference pitches, since things are only noticed to be out of tune when compared to something else. A single solitary note can't be detected to be out of tune unless you're holding a tuner up to it. If this is the reason, then the individual instruments you're using may be using slightly different tuning references. Just like European orchestras tune to A=442 and Americans to A=440.

The second possibility is that your keyboard is sending some pitch bend messages, or a mod wheel might be programmed to control vibrato or something else that's introducing slight pitch variation.
