Does anyone have any experience/advice/suggestions integrating EWQLSO with Finale? I bought their Garritan orchestra when I upgraded to 2006, and that's perfectly usable for writing scores, but if I want Finale-generated MIDI files to drive my EW stuff (or Giga stuff, for that matter), I have to scrub out a lot of Garritan-centric performance data.

Finale provides the means to customize your performance-data output, but since they're bundling with Garritan, they're understandably underdocumented w.r.t. other libraries.

    Thanks for any help!

I would like to know more about this topic as well, though I'm interested in what Finale can do with the kontakt 2 default VSL library...

I would love to know if anyone is successfully using these libraries in that way with Finale, similar to what can be done with Garritan

Hello. I'm using Finale 2007. I recently upgraded to Kontakt 3 to use with Finale.

Here's what I do now: since using Kontakt 3 in Finale requires 2008a, I load K3 as a standalone and route Finale to it through MIDI. You can use the IAC drivers or Finale Outputs which can be found in AudioMIDI setup. This works well and uses memory better than loading the instruments in Finale. You can do this with K2 as well. You can do it with EWQLSO in standalone, but I'm not sure how to get more than 8 channels...

Without K3, I loaded EWQLSO using the "Play with Native Instruments" choice under the MIDI menu. It works okay but uses a lot of memory. If you have an Intel Mac, your EWQLSO will not show up since the Kompakt Player doesn't work on Intel. There won't be an update since PLAY is coming out. K2 will work this way also, but not K3 without Finale 2008a.

    Hope that helps.
