Internal resampling on the same pad?

Is there an easy way to do this??

I know I could sample a pad internally to another pad, then cut and paste it back to the original pad....but that's kind of a drain to do it that way.

I'm trying to pitch a drum then render it right on the pad with the changes.

    Hopefully I'm overlooking something??

If the drum sound on your pad is a sample you can just adjust the pitch from the sampler. From the controller or software select “plugin” when on that pad, you will then see the sampler and you can adjust accordingly

Yes, that I know... But what I'm trying to do is use the SP1200 effect but apply it after the sample has been pitches up and back down, to simulate how many did it on the SP1200. That's what causes the aliasing and ring modulation.

Just pitching it up and then back down inside a sampler channel won't achieve that..it has to be resampled

You can resample internally to the same Sound, but the sound source (e.g., Sampler module) will be replaced with a new reset Sampler module with the new/resampled sample in it. If you don't want to replace the original sound source and sample, resample to a different Sound.

This is what I want to do....

    Let's say Sound 1...I load a kick.

I want to pitch that up...resample it with the pitch change so that it replaced the sample on the same pad.

Can I do that without sampling it onto another pad or saving and re-importing??

Yes. Just beware that if you have any effects loaded after the original sample, they will not be replaced and will still be active with the new sample (which you might but probably don't want).

Off the top of my head...
    1. Load and prepare the sound you want to resample e.g., kick sample, set SP1200 engine, pitch up.
    2. While still focused on the sound-to-be-resampled, enter Sampling mode and set to Internal, the Group that your sound-to-be-resampled is in (i.e., the current Group), Detect mode, and lower the threshold a little just to be sure you trigger the recording.
    3. Enable recording by pressing Start and tapping the respective pad or clicking the Sound (if Sound audition is enabled).
    4. When the tail of the sound has faded sufficiently, click Stop.
That is just one way, which will record the sound at the velocity you hit the pad (or at 100 if using the mouse). Another way is to create a Pattern with a note event to trigger the sound-to-be-resampled and then either resample or drag/drop the audio from there.

I misremembered, however, and the Sampler module's parameters are not reset, so your tune will still be pitched up, engine will still be on 1200 etc.

Yea this way I'm aware of...I was trying to see if there was a "1 click" way to render to the same pad. Maybe something I was over looking...would be a useful feature.

    Thanks for the help

would be cool if NI implemented a 'flatten' function like MPC/Ableton that replaces current pad sampler settings + FX with an initialised sampler with an audio sample

Nop... no 1 click solution but a lot of people want this... Feel free to create a feature suggestion.
