KOMPLETE NOW gives beatmakers, producers and creators instant access to a collection of some of our most highly sought-after instruments and effects for a low monthly or yearly payment. At the core of KOMPLETE NOW is the idea that it will consistently grow. Preset drops, sound packs, effects, and more will be introduced on a regular basis - think of it as signing up for a sonic season pass.

I would suggest everyone to check our blog post here: blog.native-instruments.com/komplete-now
There's a lot of insights on the idea behind Komplete Now and what it means for everyone (spoiler: nothing will change if you own Komplete)

We're super excited to finally be able to let users access our sounds with a more flexible and accessible offer, on top of our perpetual licenses.

I know some of you will have tons of questions so please, feel free to ask in the thread below and keep the subscription discussions in one thread.

I just checked out Komplete Now on the NI website:
    https://www.native-instruments.com/en/specials/komplete/komplete-now/

Am I missing something here? I see only 8 products, some of them were even freebies in the past. The only premium product in the list is Massive X, all the rest is either very old (Battery, Retro Machines) or preset players (Play Series).

If that's everything in the bundle then I think $9.99/mo is extremely expensive. I would kinda expect everything from the Komplete bundle to be included at this price point, and maybe something like $14.99/mo for Komplete Ultimate and $19.99/mo for Komplete Ultimate CE.

NI should really check the competition.

So I'm asking here again: does it only contain 8 products with Massive X being the only premium product?

I find this hard to believe...

The idea here is that Komplete Now will get new instruments and sounds added on a regular basis. At launch, you get what is listed on our website but you can already see on the page that Melted Vibes is next in line.

"You’ll receive an additional product each month – this could be a Play Series instrument, MASSIVE X Expansion, or a studio effect plugin. We’ll also add new BATTERY kits every two weeks."

Compared to the competition (Roland Cloud, Presonus Sphere, Plugin Alliance, ...) this bundle is very underwhelming.

Also, what is 'Battery Now'? Is this the full version of Battery or some cut-down version?

The application is exactly the same but the selection of kits is different.

What would you expect in a bundle at that price? Like how many products we're talking?

Will the Komplete Ultimate Bundles go on and can we buy them in future times?

    Oh boy.... Here we go.
I always had a feeling the Play Series was made mainly made with this in mind as it fits it perfectly.

    So, no rent-to-own?
TBH I was expecting it to have everything except Expansions & Kontakt Instruments other than the Play Series, so... all the FX and Synths. Maybe not the specialized stuff such as Guitar Rig.

The idea here is that we’ll listen to feedback from the community to see what they would like to see on subscription, nothing has been set for say a Ultimate bundle on subscription. And we're also not changing the way users buy Komplete. This is just another way to access products.

No rent-to-own. Do you mean for 9,99, you'd expect to see literally everything but Expansions and Kontakt Instruments?
It will obviously grown since new products are added every months but the focus for now is on Play Series instrument, MASSIVE X Expansion, or FX.

Question is : let’s say hone Komplete bundle owner does not go for Komplete Now subs, what will happen to his or her current Komplete bundles in the tim ? Will they be updated (for OS updates compatibility for example) and upgradable outside subs ?

Is it a kind of Starter bundle ? Or is the only subs bundle there will be for now ?

Yes, I did expect such for Synths and FX, maybe not at that price point tho but tbh I'm not even qualified to know what a fair price would be; subs often have different offerings at different price points so maybe that could be an option in the future. I'm just a bit surprised, not necessarily criticizing it.

Getting new stuff in a dripping manner is sort of odd, I don't get the point but maybe it's just me.

All feedback is welcome, critics or not. It's a fair point if you'd expect more right off the bat.

The Komplete Now offer is not aimed for the Komplete bundle owners. This is meant to be an easier way for creators to step inside our ecosystem.
Nothing changes for the Komplete bundle owners, we will continue to keep our products updated to allow for continued use and development.

I wonder who's the target audience for this. If it's for beginners then they still need a DAW to use the plugins, in which case Presonus Sphere is a much better deal as it includes all their plugins, sample packs and their DAW Studio One Pro.

More experienced users most likely already own some plugins, so I don't see them subscribe to this.

Well if you already own a DAW and you want to try NI stuff without investing big money, then Komplete Now is for you. Simple as that. This is for sure not interesting if you already have your arsenal, but definitely appealing for novice producers who don't have huge budget to start with.

    To be clear, it’s not a subs-to-own solution ?

    It is not a rent-to-own.
