iOS 10 experiences

That search bug was fixed with one of the the 9.x.x updates. Still have to double search. And now I got tons of random crashes with no discernible cause on 9.3.5. Upgraded to iOS 10 in hope that won't happen with tonight's gig

 

OK, so first open, start song, open browser mode, instant crash. All within 10 seconds. Not giving me much confidence here :/

 

Going to nuke my library, delete the app, remove the dropbox files and start fresh. I just hope it will finish removing, reloading and then analysing in time. I have 7 hours :|

 

ahhhhhhh, dammmmmmnnnn, I'm so sorry to hear this. I'm on iOS 9.3.5 and TDJ 1.6.3.912
I still had the seach bug crash, worst possible time, 4 dancers on stage, special vogue show during my set, all eyes on the stage, and than the search bug crash. Native Instruments you are the most evil or the most lame company I ever saw, and I've seen some weird ones. Lousy, unreliable liars. Go and do your homework boys, fix the bugs and do not release verions with even more bugs. Ahhh, I just forgot, this is the company who was continue to sell their iOS sound card and haven't said a word when the card was not working on iOS8, for more than 6 months...

 

Yup. Still one crash in a 60 minute set. To be "fair", it was whilst analysing (because of course 7 hours wasn't long enough) and recording. With just analysing and no recording, I seemed to approach stability. Good thing these are open air gigs and not club gigs, but still not a good look.

This is on an iPad Air 1, 128 with approx 9000 track loadout per gig. And post nuking the entire iTunes and Purchased folder with iExplorer, deleting the Dropbox DB, deleting and reinstalling TDJ. :/

 

i was kinda sure that the search bug was gone, I haven't had it for weeks, and then BOOOOOOM, in the worst possible situation. I don't understand why it's good for Native Instruments to put their users in shame, could any of the NI representatives who showed up on their own product's forum after few years of silence) could answer this?

 

1.6.3 update installed... working fine on iPar Air II and iPhone 7, but Iceverb, Reverse and Traspose are at the iPhone and not on the iPad. This afternoon I'll try with the Z1.

 

All I know is that this new version is way less stable than the previous one on either 9.x or 10.x :/

 

the update from the last friday is just pure horror....crashing all time i do a search...the only way was reseting my iPad and go back to the last backup....downloading 15000 songs again....lost all my date on traktor...cue points....etc...you really cannot work with that...when will you fix that, NI? my next gigs are next weekend...

 

i'm an idiot. after all of your negative feedback I decided to stay on iOS9 and do not update TDJ.
however I forgot to switch off the autoupdate and TDJ was updated overnight
anyway, let's go to the full effect then. yesterday I updated my iPad to iOS 10, I made a factory reset, reinstalled iOS 'as a new iPad' reinstalled TDJ and uploaded some songs. so far it's all good. nothing has been changed in the app (yes NI told its only a buggy update), no search bug so far and TA2 works. however I will have few gigs this week so I will have more info and battlefield experience by Sunday.

I really really hope that NI has done a proper job this time.

 

You _should_ be good if you are not recording/analysing while playing. But I am very reluctant to trust it.

 

what worries me is the 'search bug' or other bugs when the music stops unexpectedly. when I play headlining or special sets I can play from my playlists and it's okay(ish), but when I do allnighter sets (what I really love to do btw) then I have to search...

 

Yeah, having anguish every time you open the browser or start a search certainly isn't building much trust into the product. That said, a fix is on the way.

 

OK, so I have narrowed it down to this only happening when:
1) Recording
2) Trying to load a track

Without recording I have yet to make it crash, even when doing repeated track loads and searching. Please report back if you are seeing crashes not related to recording.

 

Never mind. Managed to get it to crash without recording. Another tip to add to the list: Don't open the browser while TDJ is rendering a waveform or analysing.

 

The look on 6s+ iPhone is like blurry, have a look.

Maybe if we stand on one leg and hold our breath while searching or a new song it may work
