IPAD isn't recognized by my new tractor control z1

hey guys.
i'm plugging my IPAD 7.1.2 version into my new Kontrol Z1 and it's not recognizing my Traktor DJ application when i bring it up.
I was able to get the Z1 to recognize the Traktor Pro app on my laptop but nothin doing with the IPad.
Anyone have this problem? I am in Provincetown and got a DJ gig in two days. Can anyone help me figure out this issue?

Hi roddy. Try closing the app first. Then start your traktor dj app first. Then turn on the z1. Hope that helps

 

thanks for your reply Steven, yeah, no luck. it seems like it might be the lightning adapter. i got the lightning adapter at the Apple store that takes the USB into my iPad. this seems like it'd be a simple setup. i'm missing something.

 

That's strange! It should work. Unless if the adaptor is messed up or the cable.

 

I have the same problem. The Z1 works fine on my computer, and the Lightning to USB adapter works fine with the iPad mini so there are no hardware problems.
I tried restarting the iPad, opening Traktor DJ and then plugging in the Z1 but it doesn't seem to recognize it as an audio/MIDI device. One strange thing is that it does recognize a device, because when I take out the PSU, the iPad pops up a message which says the device consumes too much power so it can't use it.

Any other tips before I send in a ticket?

 

You bought the wrong adapter, you should buy the lightning to 30 pin not the cck (lightning to usb)

 

Native Instruments should state clearly that KONTROL Z1 do not work with LIGHTNING TO USB CAMERA ADAPTER.


If you have Lightning in your iOS device you have to buy LIGHTNING TO 30-PIN ADAPTER !!!

agree i use same cable for my iPad Air2 and S4 and Z1 ... works perfect

so absolute will not work with out the NI cord? That could be a relief cause I can't make mine work with out the adapter but ITS NOT 30 PIN.
waiting on the cord I bought off the NI website. Just want to use this as a mobile controller with iPad.
