    Hi there!

I was wondering if anyone is using iMaschine 2 on the new big iPad Pro? What are your experiences? How does iMaschine 2 feel on the bigger screen for you? Any thoughts in general?

    Many thanks!

BTW, the iPad Pro doesn't support 3D Touch as opposed to iPhone 6s / 6s Plus. So you WON'T be able to use features like:
Also check here for what you will NOT get on your iPad Pro: http://www.engadget.com/2015/11/12/native-instruments-imaschine-2/
Guess I will wait for the 2016 iPad Pro version now... :(

IMaschine was never meant to be an iPad app (unfortunately).

There was never a plan in place to take full advantage of the tablet experience. Which is really a shame in and of itself.

When looking at apps like Beatmaker 3, Music Studio and Nanostudio its not hard to feel like NI is completely failing in the mobile production realm. As a maker of hardware and software, many of us feel as though there should have been a MUCH BETTER Offering from NI YEARS AGO, but they have yet to even offer anything significant to the mobile music maker.

What their app does is no different than many of the "looping" apps out there that are available at a cheaper price point. The interest is kept for users by continuing to offer expansions in line with Maschine releases and also the ability to export to Maschine via iTunes. Which, let's be honest is not as inticing as it seems since many apps will offer exporting of stems which can easily be transferred to a DAW (which you would have to do anyway)

IMHO, iMaschine was a decent (at best) app for messing around with and all the new enhancements that we got in iMaschine 2 should have been updates in iMaschine (as few as they were). IMaschine 2 (or Pro) should have been a whole new experience that would have closely mirrored the workflow and look of Maschine with a mobile controller that would connect in BLE or the new SmartConnect available on iPad pro for users who truly want/have a mobile setup.

I have a Maschine Studio and travel frequently. I NEVER take my Studio out the lab, too much of a burden. My iPad is my go to on the road and iMaschine 2 is a joke. If I were to start a beat on iMaschine 2 in front of a client I would get laughed at or possibly even fired. When I open Beatmaker 3 and pull out the Quneo as well as link the Korg, Arturia and various other apps keyboard apps through Audiobus, I always get asked "How'd you do that??!?!" Or "What apps are those??" Bottom line people are impressed.

Don't waste your time or money on this app. Seriously. It's a bad investment. There are much better apps out there for the same price that will allow you to do so much more. I'm not trolling, those are facts.

Wow, I had never heard of Beatmaker 3. I’m tired of taking my Maschine Studio on travel as well. So I got Imaschine 2, had fun with it, of course it was limiting, but I wasn’t so bothered. But then I took a look at beatmaster 3 after reading your post. Jesus, what are NI doing? It’s almost as if its a joke. Do you have some method of transferring Beatmaker projects to desktop Maschine? I use logic, with maschine as a plugin. Would be interested to hear a simple example of your workflow on the iPad. As I too present stuff to clients from usually my MacBook, but now with my iPad Pro, it looks good on there. But as you hinted, iMaschine is definitely not sexy in a professional situation.
    Cheers

I'll let a multi-award winning producer show you instead of me.
