    Disappointed.....

Yesterday I've received Intakt, I was hoping that it would be some sort of Recycle on steroids but instead... small screen, no full screen option, small windows to edit samples and maybe most important... NO EXPORT FUNCTION!

I wanted to use Intakt to edit my samples and loops to use in other programs like Live, but I now can only use it as a plug-in, and I hate plug-ins...!

    Maybe it's all my fault....

    love it

ive had it for a few weeks and for the most part i totally dig it.i use it with cakewalk project5 and the two seem meant for each other.the loop manipulation functions are quite advanced-and i really like the fact that all three sampler modes can be used in a single instrument.workflow is fairly spontaneous.
my only real gripes are with the instructions and NIs lackluster tech support.otherwise i love it.

Hi, I'm here on a recon mission about intakt for use with project5.

How would you compare the intakt plug-in to the cyclone plug-in included in project 5?

depends on whether you want to use your own acidized wavs.cyclone requires wavs acidized with acid pro or zero-x beat creator(needs the advanced slicing options)intakt does not require this.intakt also makes an excellent garden-variety sampler as well(ds864 is buggy).also intakt is monotimbral-perfect for the p5 one track=one synth model.i bought intakt specifically for these reasons and so far i am quite satisfied-i recomend it.btw i think p5 is awesome as a sequencer-just dont care for the built in synths much.hope this helps.

Thanks for your reply. It was quite helpful.

Not requiring acidized loops is a strong point in intakts favor.

I didn't consider it as a possible replacement for DS864 but that would be an added bonus.

Are there any limits to how large a sample intakt can work with? Also do you need a separate instance for each instrument within P5?

I agree with your assessment of P5 :). I find it quite a flexible environment to work with. It is a tad resource hungry, but it hasn't gotten in the way as of yet.

BTW. Do you ever visit the Project5 area of the Cakewalk forums? If not, you should.

    THanks again!

I have been using samplers / sequencers starting from ATARI and AKAI S-1000 and continue support pro level music writers and studio's with tech issues on both Mac and Windows. After downloading the demo version it has crashed several times on the mac.
I tried it out on both the Mac and WinXPpro with the XPpro version providing less crashes. This program is not very useful. There have been and are lots of other harware and software solutions for dealing with loops / beatslicing / filtering that work great. I thought this tool was supposed to work in "realtime". It doesn't see incoming MIDI clock. Too bad.

The one thing i'm having problems with is using it as a plug in inside of Sonar 4. It's not showing as anything except a small box. All other NI programs work fine. Odd. And why the reason to exclud an export option for the stand alone? what'ss the purpose of a stand alone program without the option to export?
