Is anyone succesfully using Maschine with an external looper?

I am trying to use Maschine with my Boss RC-50 looper. I have had some success with it but still facing some issues.

1. I am able to set the RC-50 as the master but for some reason the tempo goes haywire and jumps up 30 to 50% after recording a pharase. I am thinking that this is a problem with the RC-50.

2. I have had zero success getting the Maschine to act as the master. It is as if the clock is not being sent at all.

What I am hoping to achieve is the ability to have the looper synced with the Maschine and just record phrases at will without it starting or stopping the Maschine. It seems to me that this should be possible but I have yet to find a way.

BTW...I have made the midi connection via my hardware audio interface(Motu 828 mkII).

Do keep in mind that I am very new to Midi so I am just hoping that this is due to my lack of knowledge.

Ok...so scratch the use of the RC-50. Has anyone had luck with ANY looper working in sync with the Maschine?

i forget what page in the users manual but maschine can act as a looper for itself, although I don't remember the steps that I read I do remember that it was something straight forward and simple, do a search on the users manual for looper and you should find it, sorry I couldn't be of more help.

 

Just out of curiosity, are you going for something like DubFX, or something more "normal" like building a "rock" song from instruments into the maschine?

 

I am looking to use the Maschine to build a layer of rhythm and then use the looper to layer in guitar, keys, Kaossilator, etc. I need both to be in sync to make this work.

I spent a little time trying to use the Looping function in the Maschine but it does not appear that this can be done very smoothly in a live situation.
