Is B3 a loop player mangler, really?

I bought B3 and, although I think its much better than B2, I'm disappointed with a few features - I could be wrong about some of my points here:

With the loop player feature (e.g., load up a rex, wave, beatcreator loop) I thought that I could use B3 as a loop player, timestretcher, with great effects. However, I notice that the rex, wave, etc loops do not sync well with my host at all.

Also, the effects and modulation applied to the loops only work when you click on the cell containing the loop - meaning that if I cut a loop, make it rex and import it - I cannot get the effects to work in, say, the loop mode or the wave mode. They only work when I click on the cell. Anywayz, sorry if i'm unclear, but the bottom line is that I think that I'm using B3 improperly - its a drum sampler, that's all. It's not a loop player, mangler. Am I right here? Thanks.....

I'm pretty disappointed as well. I thought one could open a loop in B3 and then B3 would calculate the tempo automatically. Instead one has to provide tempo information with external expensive programs that I do not own or plan to buy. If one could just write the tempo with the file in Battery, that would be much better/easier.

I CANNOT use that part of B3 at all since I do not own these programs. I think that really sucks.

Ableton Live plays any loop in sync without one having to provide tempo info with external programs.

I hope to see an auto sync/looping feature in a near update.

I own Soundforge 8 but I don't think one can save audio as an ACID file.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.

However, I really do like the stretch feature A LOT.

Two words ... Phatmatik Pro. Fast, fun loop-mangling sonic mayhem. Best of all, if you use Live (or another DAW/sequencer that supports it) you can drag the midi triggers from the sliced beat in Phatmatik Pro and drop it right in a midi clip in Live for more tweaking, slicing and dicing. I love Battery 3, but it takes too long to shred, distort and otherwise destroy my loops. I'll stick to using Battery for creating original drum tracks.
