Did Ni give up the imaschine for ipad?
we are in version 2 for about 3 years, and no updates ..
imaschine is very limited comparing for example with Beatmaker 3 .. will there be an imaschine 3?

I sure hope not - some of my best tracks were started on iMaschine but you are right, its getting harder and harder. All they have to do is make a couple of tweaks and it would meet many needs. Personally, I am not looking for a DAW. It was 4 years between iMaschine 1 and 2, so maybe 2019 will be iMaschine 3?

Well, all is not lost... BM3 v3.1 is to introduce 'midi export'. Hoping that the export feature can export scenes (midi).

I think iMaschine is till in development. It doens’t seem that NI will give up on a growing market that Akai, Intua, Steinberg, and others are aggressively pursuing. BeatMaker 3 is probably the most popular for iPad right now, virtually offering the workflow similar to the desktop version of Maschine. The delay may be due to competitors putting out features that makes them rethink the approach, especially where AudioUnit support peaking interest.

I hope you are right - I love the workflow of being able to doing a sketch-beat and then import into MK3 to make it into a full track. Right now I'm having to do audiocopy to get "loops" into iMaschine created from other apps (e.g. Cubasis), just so I can try to stay within the maschine ecosystem. I really do not want to invest my time into learning something like BM3 (which I have) because I want to enhance and mix in Maschine. I'm not trying to build a full beat on mobile right now - I just want to use my portable midi keyboard and get AU support.

I will buy imaschine 3 the day it comes out. I’ve tried beatmaker 3, Korg Gadget, GarageBand but like imaschine the best.

Mostly I think it’s the patterns and wet samples they include that make me like it so much. If it could only do more things like MIDI and at least an ADSR sampler keyboard it’d be so damn great.

I do not like they way in which you have to get your music off of Imashine to get it to maschine. It is a really cumbersome process.

Yeah, its kind of antiquated but when they first released iMaschine, it was probably one of the better ways. For the next version, they should allow for you to export to the Files app (which is tied to iCloud Drive) and then you can just open up the project going to your cloud drive (iCloud, dropbox, whatever).

No, you cannot. NI (makers of hardware controllers) did not include that functionality with their app.

I believe the term is #Irony
