Is it possible to activate Absynth 4 through Native Access?

Hi.
I'm trying to activate Absynth 4 (from Komplete 5) on my Windows 10 computer.
I know that it's not longer possible to activate older plugins according to this statement: https://support.native-instruments....ervice-Center-and-Legacy-Products-End-of-Life ,but Absynth 4 is not listed as plugins that you can't activate.
I managed to activate Kontakt 3.5 and Guitar Rig 3 but Absynth 4 still only runs in demo mode.
Is it still possible to activate Absynth 4 somehow?

 

You’re activating Absynth 4 via your Komplete 5 license, which should be ok.

I've tried to install Kontakt 3, Guitar Rig 3, Reaktor 5 and Absynth 4 from Komplete 5. All 4 products shows up as "full version" under installed products in Native Access. Kontakt 3, Guitar Rig 3 and Reaktor 5 Works just fine while Absynth 4 starts up in demo mode and asks me to activate it with the Service Center.
So how do I activate Absynth 4?

 

What version of Absyth 4 are you running?

 

I'm running Absynth 4.0.5.003 and there is only a 32 bit version if I remember correctly.
Can anyone confirm that Absynth 4 still can be activated? Maybe I did something wrong during the install...

 

In NA, what options do you have if you click on DEMO?

 

Do you mean in Native Access? I can't find anything that say DEMO.

 

Maybe try to reinstall Absynth again. It helps sometimes.

I can't directly answer that, but.. If you go to the NI website, log on and then check your product list, what does it say behind the Absynth entry? That should give you a hint on how you're supposed to install and activate it.

There is no Absynth entry in my product list. I assume that's because it belongs to Komplete 5. The only thing that's behind Komplete 5 is the serial number and nothing more. Reaktor 5 and other Komplete 5 products doesn't show up in the list either but they are installed just fine.

 

Yes. It is listed as "full version" and the serial number belongs to Komplete 5. (Same as with Reaktor 5, Komplete 3 etc...)

 

The only thing I can think of that I did wrong was that I installed the Absynth 4.0.5 update without installing from the disk first. Absynth worked but it was not activated and some of the presets had missing samples. I then uninstalled it, installed from disk, then installed the 4.0.5 update.
I've tried to reinstall several times after that with no luck.

I've also tried to install Pro-53 and B4 II before I realized thay could not be activated. They also show up in Native Access as "Full Version" (even after I uninstalled them) but the serial number is wrong.

 

So I verified all this as best as I could and indeed; Komplete 5 includes Absynth 4 and I also can't find anything about it being discontinued or such. I double checked my own list of serials and you're right: Absynth wouldn't be mentioned separately when it's included with Komplete. I overlooked the fact that I bought Absynth individually several years ago.

Question: how are you starting Absynth? Stand alone or as a plugin in your DAW? I'd suggest to start it stand alone at first to ensure it can sort out things like library paths and, hopefuly, registrations. Does that work?

Well, it's been a while since I did this (and I hope he doesn't mind) but maybe Matt @ NI can shed some light on this. Hopefully he'll be able to confirm (or deny) that registration is still possible... Your problem looks definitely weird to me.

 

I'm starting Absynth in stand alone. I've tried it as a plugin too but it still just opens with the dialog where I can choose to activate, buy or demo.
I just noticed that on top of that screen it say "ERROR ERROR ERROR", so something has apparently gone wrong and a reinstall won't help.

 

I have Absynth 4 which was part of my Komplete 4 installation.
In NA if I search for ‘Absynth 4’ it appears and displays “full version” (I think - I’m not on my Mac right now).
I do not own Absynth 4 individually so the only way it is there must be from Komplete 4.
I don’t understand why it’s not displaying there for you.
I think you should open a support ticket.

 

Absynth do appear in Native Access and it shows as full version.
It doesn't appear under my products on the native instruments webpage because only Komplete 5 appears there.

 

Ok, that is definitely wrong - if it’s showing as full version it should run normally, not in demo mode. Have you tried installing the whole Komplete 5 again?

 

I just uninstalled then reinstalled Komplete 5 but still no difference.
I guess I'll open a support ticket and see if NI can solve the problem.
