    Hi,

is it possible to make loops out of the drum sounds in Abbey Road drums?
And if the answer is yes, which method is the easiest one to use?
    Regards Henrik

Well just programm/play a beat and loop it, what's the question?

    Yep, exactly...

If your question was whether you could create a new loop LIBRARY (i.e. for commercial sale) out of the Abbey Road Drums, then the answer is no -- the license agreement would forbid it.

    Hi,
I´m sorry if my question sounded stupid :)
But I´m new to this KONTAKT interface and I simply need an easy way to get some loops out of the program/HOW to program them.
I know it sounds obvious for you guys but I´m used to work with Sonys Acid but I suppose I have to carefully read the manual to figure out how the whole thing works :) Thanks for trying to help.
    Kind regards Henrik

Unfortunately your question is rather complex and it would take a long time to explain (beyond what's possible in a forum, due to different user setups, etc.)

The short answer to your question is that, generally speaking (apart from advanced scripting), Kontakt doesn't sequencing within it. So you have to sequence from a host DAW (digital audio workstation) -- like Cubase, Nuendo, Pro Tools, Logic, DP, Ableton Live, etc. In the sequencer you will be able to send and record note triggers to Kontakt. Every one of those programs includes different editing tools to allow you to build MIDI tracks the way you like them, and many of them include drum editors as a way to program.

My best advice for you would be to find a sequencing program (like any of those listed above) then learn to sequence with it, then you will be able to use it to trigger the sounds in Kontakt in order to build drum loops.

Yup, Kontakt is a sample player, not a sequencer. If you want a loop, you need to use MIDI tracks in your DAW, then record the output of Kontakt to audio, to get some loops. David said it all.

    Thanks Dave

    Hi David,
thanks a lot for your reply which explained a lot of things to me.
I have never used midi that much and when then only for some direct recordings but I´m going to explore it now.
    Kind regards Henrik

NB: Also thanks to the other guys in this forum for replying to my topic.

If you are not familiar with programming download some midi files to your taste and put them on your kontakt track.
