Is it possible to move specific instruments to external SSD?

Hi all, I searched all over for the answer to this, but can't find it.

I messed up. I bought a new M1 macbook pro. It was supposed to be the machine to rule them all, but I didn't get a large enough hard drive, and I have Komplete 13 UCE. I really don't want to have to go through the steps of waiting for an upgraded one (this is also a development machine), so I need to know if it's possible to do the following:

* Mobile setup for songwriting - put my most used instruments on the laptop drive, leave the SSD at home
* 'At home' setup - my lesser used instruments are on an SSD that's always connected to a dock. So when I'm at home, I have all of my instruments.

Do you know if this is possible? It seems that I could move individual instruments and then when it complains, navigate to each instrument on its external drive location. Is that how I would do it? I guess I can give that a shot... but would love any feedback before I go and ruin it.

 

Hi RichBass - no don't do that.

I have K13 UCE as well. I dont know what size yours is but my internal is 500GB. All but one of my products are installed on an external but you should be able to do what you've described and move stuff after the fact. Look up on NI website in the Native Access area. It will tell you how to move stuff. You will need to "repair" the path after you move the said Libraries and do so through NA otherwise you wont be able to use the libraries you've moved. Of course its highly recommended to always install the applications themselves on the internal but those are only of a minimal size. Also some of the Applications have their own libraries installed on the internal drive but by far the majority can be put on external.
