I know there are a few workarounds for sequencing with maschine but i was wondering if there was a way to capture pattern switching on the fly other than sampling to another track? Cheers.

if you wanna actually sequence them instead of just record them so you can go back and change it up later you could record your scene parts to samples and put them on the pads of a group and then just sequence the scenes like you do samples.

I want to record them but that's given me an idea of using the scenes instead maybe using the linear sequencing mode i read about on Maschinetutorials but apparently i need a plugin called hush? But yeah i want to keep the midi so i can then go in and add automation and effects, then print to audio. Cheers.

ther is a technic to record scene changes (not in audio ), scènes can be triggered by midi notes , and if you have a virtual midi cable you can set it up . )personaly i use : CopperLan Manager for the virtual midi cable (because i'am on Windows )
the tip is to ad a group where the midi of one of the sounds slot have to be setted up to send midi to the virtual cable in this this group you will create a pattern that you have to put in every scènes (the same pattern )

second part you have to to set up the scènes to be triggered by notes , + you have to set up the source to listen the virtual midi cable .

the scene one will now be triggered by the C-2 note so you have to set up the pads to play this part of the keyboard .
once you see that the notes of this sound changes the scènes it's good , you can reccord your pattern . and this will be your Song pattern or Song mode ....
i use it every day or ...

    sorry for bad English ...:D
(this tip is really working if there is any missing in my explain you can ask me again, oh i tried to make a video but i'am bad for making tutorial but i let you the link so you can see where i set up those things )

of course you can send the midi notes fron another instrument , your daw etc

you can do scene changes via midi notes. record that midi and voila, you have your performance recorded.
like switching from session view to arrangement view in ableton.

what is missing is pattern change via midi notes
