As it stands maschine standalone is probably not for you as it doesn't have any built in synthesis capabilities, so unless you want to use samples for all your baselines and acid type noises then you need something like reason or ableton live with some synth plugins.

in general, you are able to produce a song like this. with MASCHINE standalone you can do a lot of things. you are able to load all your own samples, for instance in wav or REX format. you can also use the MASCHINE built in sounds and combine everything.

what AIkiGhost said about the synthesis capabilities is near the truth, for now, but have in mind that MASCHINE is a kind of a pioneer tool and young and will be updated constantly. so new features will come.

for now, you can make your song, and then just drag and drop all the audio tracks in your DAW, f.e. cubase or logic, and add fx and everything there. so you can combine it with pretty much stuff.

its more about which workflow you like, straight on the computer with mouse, or if you like to have hardware controllers, MASCHINE is def the right choice.

if you find/make/buy the right samples, you can make a track like that in Maschine.

I'll agree that you CAN, but much as I love it maschine really isn't the best tool for the job right now.

    ;) :p

then i would suggest Logic, as it comes with a great Library that includes some great Synths and FX.

having said that, the Drum Library that comes with Maschine is better imho.
