is the MIDI - [loop] / [move] functionality really so limited?

    hola!

the cleaned up loop/move-functionality (compared to T3) for sure makes 100% more sense in the gui now.

but for midi it's a nightmare!

you have to first select if you want to jump in the track or move a loop - or move the Loop-In or the Loop-Out!

I do that stuff a lot, so i need to have separate buttons/knobs for each of that, otherwise it leads to performance mistakes.

there is no real reason in my eyes why the midi functionality has to follow the GUI limits of just being able to see one of those things. (that's what midi controlers are for, not to have to look at the screen, right?)

also it should be possible to bind the length of the [loop move] / [beat jump] to each button.
reason: it has to be possible to separately move on different buttons/knobs a loop just a little bit (in case of a lazy late trigger finger) or to move the whole loop

THIS IS THE ONLY REASON WHY I AM STILL ON T3!
there all of that is possible!

but maybe i am just to stupid and haven't found the right midi shortcuts yet? i would be very thankful if somebody could show me the way in the modifier jungle ;)

    thank u!

doenst seem like a very convincing reason to stikc with T3, as its all possible .. just with some additional midi mapping.

now you do have a point that its annoying to have to do these mappings. especially if you do not want the GUI to change. so it would be nice if all these mappings that require a change in the GUI layout to have an optional checkbox: show in GUI. if this is clicked, then the relevant panel will automatically be shown. if not then the given mapping should work behind the scenes automatically. adding some "magic" MIDI commands (or better yet, letting us define magic MIDI commands) that are a combination of several MIDI commands that are often combined would also be cool.

    how is it possible?

as far as i found out the midi for [loop/cue move] is one for all - and u have to select first what u want to do.
[beat jump], [loop move], [loop in], [loop out]
    or am i wrong?

i need all those functions assigned to different buttons to straight [beatjump] or make the loop smaller/bigger on a different button while moving the loop on another button...
(please no workarounds with the loop presets)

i dont need to see on the screen what i am doing. thats the idea of a midi controle...r ;) but of course i wouldnt mind if it would be possible...

you can assign multiple things to happen with a single button, so you just change the advanced panel mode, the type of move and the size with one single mapping. of course this will also change the GUI, but since you dont look at it .. you dont mind :)

    ok, thanks for the booklink!
    will deffo get it!

    but 4 short term..
all i need to know is if modifiers have to get in involved...

    because:
how does TPro know that first it has to switch to [loop in move] and then the preset [loop] and THEN it finally moves the loop in with the arrows...
(all on one button, but logical it are 3 things that have to be done in a sequence)

    thank u!

the order in how traktor pro actually executes things AFAIK is an unresolved mystery. all i can say is that if you define your mappings in the same order as you would do them in the GUI, it works. not sure if it doesnt work if you do it in any other order.
