    Hi,

I've recently upgraded to Traktor Pro.

The main problem I have is that it my screen is only 1024 x 768. The decks and interface take up so much room that I can only see about 4 tracks?

I am aware that I can change the font but this doesn't make any difference to the size of the main panels - any help/advice would be much appreciated.

You'll have to toggle the browser window open and closed somehow. You can map this to a midi key on a controller or (i assume) to a keystroke on your laptop keyboard.

    Prefs>Midi Mapping>Add>View>Only Browser Toggle

You could also just toggle a 2 deck layout which will give you more of your browser without losing sight of all of your decks.

i think all of us have to toggle browser.
i have a macbookpro, 15inch, but when i search for songs,
i can`t see more then 4-5 tracks, so
i put the "dot" - " . " as my key to toggle my screen-set to "4decks min. and browser" that way i can still see all 4 decks, if they play, if they are looping, how much time is left, and such...

and when i found the track i want to load, i have a macro that loads the track and at the same time changes the screen-set back to "full 4 decks".
    works best for me.

searching for a song? press " . " and search, then press one midi-control and you`re back at business.

I am only seeing the "Only Browser Toggle" or the "Layout Select"... but Layout Select does not have any options as to what layout to choose. Do I have to use this option and remove all the layouts that I don't want to see from the Layouts pref or is there a dedicated midi ccommand you are using to toggle between the layouts you want?

No, you can set the individual layout by using the type DIRECT and selecting the number layout you want. The layouts are in the same order they are in the Layout preferences.

There is also programs that give you a virtual resolution size - in effect tricking windows into thinking that your screen supports a higher resolution than it actually does.

    I use a 13" laptop.

I have 5 different screen layouts mapped to hotkeys that allow me to see what I need.

The hotkeys are set to direct on my number keys (1, 2, 3 etc...)

Plus the ` key will give you a full view of the browser.

You just have to make several layouts and then make hotkeys for them.

err... I would not suggest running another software in the background to change your screen size...

You need a higher resolution video card. Sucks, I know.

Are you sure it doesn't go higher than 1024x768?

Most laptops will go higher than that.

    I havent tried it myself - i have a 1920x1200 17" screen.

Id try it though, i dont know how well it would function but its worth a shot as a test.
