Is there a problem with Maschine Mk3 Supplies?

I was hoping I would have my hands on the Mk3 by now, but it seems supplies in the UK have dried up.

The first payday since the launch must have been the catylst. I am guessing quite a few of us had the same thought,
so that now the MK3 can't be found. This must be a nice postion for NI, but its not helping those of us left to lust after their
products.

I have an order placed with gear4music, but its anyones guess when they'll have their hands on freash stocks. NI ?

 

Yeah Im waiting for a replacement MK3 as my first one failed, been told gonna be couple of weeks by GAK

 

You're assuming they sold out of stock, but I have a feeling they might have pulled the current batch due to these velocity issues and whatever else. Here's hoping I'm wrong, considering I own one.

 

i think it depends on where you are located with shipping times and if there is enough demand to make the shipment to that area. i got mine 2 days after i ordered it on the first day it was officially available in nor cal us. i am sure they were well tested by NI before they began distribution as NI has a larger hardware line... ...

 

What source did you oder it from?

I preordered directly from NI and got it the day before launch, Oct 4th. The local music stores received them Oct 13th

 

american musical supply, they ship from nevada for the west cost, so it is one day shipping. i have had things i order the day before in the morning come the next afternoon as standard shipping.... for NI items they are good because these items come in at west coast ports. i order all my stuff from them and sweetwater, as well as independent sources. for me to order from NI would have been quick as well because they have a shipping center in LA and sometimes one in the south bay... i ordered it on the afternoon of the 5th, and received it the morning of the 7th. prior to the 5th they were not in stock...

 

Yeah, i'm in the UK too and a little concerned now. I started a Maschine course yesterday that included me buying a MK3 as part of the cost of the course and that should have been provided yesterday, but wasn't. I've learned some skills and got some course work to do by next week and i've no Maschine to do it on. The course was already put back a week as they couldn't get the MK3's in time to start the course, but they decided they couldn't push back the course start date again, so i'm basically not getting what I paid for, but I can't blame the school as it's out of their hands.

We have 4x MK3's between around 12 of us. I was one of the lucky ones that sat at a table with a MK3, but if these don't arrive by next week then I have to learn on a MK2 and someone else gets to use the MK3. Normally when I order goods from Germany they arrive in a couple of days, but this feels like Third World distribution.

I could have bought a MK3 at a local launch event NI threw on Oct 5th and wish I had now. FML

 

Good old MK 3.

 

Probably they are dealing with the factory defect where the right side screen is dimming. Oh wait sorry, we're talking about mk3.

 

If that's the case, what happens to early adopters?

 

NI is good at slangin' them hardware products. But the software , don't be fooled...

 

That thought had occurred to me.

If there are issues with the present stock then the delays are likely to be more than a few weeks. They would have to 'patch' the current hardware until a redesigned production pcb comes online. Meantime my money is accruing interests for a retailer who has no idea when NI will deliver fresh supplies.

Now we have Ableton 10 on the horizon, it leaves me wondering if their imminent announcement had any baring on the Mk3 release date. Or could it be Ableton is taking advantage of NI's misfortune. Meantime gear4music now says the earliest date they have is 17 November and even that can't be confirmed. ;(

 

Andertons are quoting 10th November at the moment, I got my first MK3 from GAK, on 2nd Oct, but developed a fault so had to go back, no idea when my replacement is coming yet..

 

Gear4music came through. My Mk3 was delivered today, that's about 9 days after order. Not bad when you consider they were waiting on new stock when I placed the order.

 

Got my replacement MK3 yesterday from GAK, so all ok now

 

Highly unlikely.
That problem doesn't mandate something as dramatic as that because it really only affects a small percentage of users based on their methods more so than being something that makes the unit unusable.

 

Because aliens.

 

My new MK3 didnt even need the firmware update, like my first one did, so possibly new 'batch' of MK3s

 

Any comment on the sensitivity of the pads with the new batch?

They are near OK. But i like the MStudio Pads a lot more, they feel better IMO.
