    Hi Guys

I have been using traktor 3 for a few years and my laptop died in December meaning I had to buy a new one and my BCD2000 does not work with vista so I've upgraded to traktor pro and bought a bcd3000 but, can I remember how to get the 2 things talking to each other? nope can I heck!

I was using cykos MB4 flavor midi rules with the old system but I cannot for the life of me get the .tks file to open in vista like I used to in XP?

All I want to know is this, is there a simple walk through anywhere that can tell someone as thick as me how to load the .tsi file and then how to load the .tks file so that traktor pro and the bcd3000 talk to each other?

    sort of like this

first go to this > and then >this and then > this etc etc

If that info is already here then apologies but I keep reading threads and the more I read the more confused I get! LOL

    Thanks in advance

    Hi dj mutley :)

Thanks for that so it's .tsi not .tks...doh!

    However next problem...

I have downloaded the .tsi file posted by cheft in another thread but...

I'm getting a red error warning message flashing up that says:-

"accessor information has unknown version. therefore it has been ignored"

    can you help again?

Yikes a further question (God I'm thick!)

The B control panel is found in the task bar in windows XP where the heck is it in Vista?

Which version of TPro are you using?

I don't know anything about Behringer stuff...but you might want to click Start->All Programs-> and see what's there in relation to Behringer

    Hi Chilly :)

Do you mean windows or mac or how recent? its the windows version and I upgraded last week and have downloaded the latest drivers from NI

There is nothing in the start > programs in relation to Behringer?

    Sheesh I'm lost :(

You're either running TPro 1.01 or 1.02. Pick one (you should be able to tell once you've loaded it). From doing a search on here, it looks like your error is resolved by loading the latest version of Traktor.

If you can't get rid of that error, my suggestion would be to open a support ticket, and once it's resolved, post the resolution here to help others.

Like I said, I dunno anything about Behringer. Check their website/forums out? Maybe search on here...I think there's about eleventy million threads on the 3000....just a rough estimate :)

    Thanks anyway chilly :)

You may be able to answer this question though and this is probably another dumb one but here goes...

In the Midi setup section in Traktor

I have an input and an output section

both have 5 options maple midi in port 1 - 4 and the BCD3000 as the fifth option does the "X" by the side mean I have selected it or de-selected it? and what exactly should I select?, I'm sure I read somewhere in the 1,000s of posts to just select port 1 but, i can't find where I read it know (grrr!)

Man I would seriously just start reading the manual and moving on from there, asking specific questions related to topics covered in the manual but that don't answer your question.

The 'x' means it is selected, btw.

    Hi Chilly

Thanks X means it is selected I had hoped so (can't see anywhere in the manual where it confirms this though?)

I have the manual here right in front of me doesn't have any section detailing how to set up Pro with the BCD3000 either plenty on audio 8 though (which is no help) and no section on what to select as midi inputs or outputs either? just midi mappings (which I can't get to work because I just keep getting the error signal flashing red as mentioned above)

Nothing on what or which port to select for maple midi in the manual either

The BCD3000 manual only deals with setting it up in XP

which is why I'm asking here (sorry to be a total pain in the ass but like I said a nice straightforward walkthrough for setting up the BCD3000 with traktor pro on a windows vista machine is what I really need - if that is possible?)

A-ha! in sheer desperation I decided to have some dinner and switch the lappy off..voila on re-boot we are getting somewhere

Suddenly I have the BCD3000 asio! hooray

Then the .tsi file finally loads! yaaaay

All of a sudden I can see everything listed in the assignment table too! yippeee!

    But...

I the BCD3000 is still not lighting up or talking to traktor?any ideas guys what can I have not done?

    yes maple

I downloaded maple virtual midi cable when I was originally trying to get my bcd2000 working with vista and it came up in my midi set up listed as an option for ports 1,2,3&4. I downloaded that through advice at cycokrauts website and that has been confusing me (on top of everything else - heck its years since I've had to do this :( I just used to click on my midi rules file then up came a MSdos box and I pressed 3,9,11,0 waited a few moments and everything re-assuredly lit up for a second or two).

    BTW

I have always used this .tks file with my bcd2000

    BCD2000-Traktor3_mb4guns-cycokrauts_flavor_2007-01-01.tks

and it always had everything I needed

I have downloaded chefT's .tsi file and things just aint quite right so far :(

I always used cue A and Cue B to listen in headphones they're not working, Xfader and kill buttons aren't working

anyone know if there is a .tsi file available that works similar to the mb4guns.tks file mentioned above

    1) search the forums for a .tsi file

    2) check djtechtools.com's forums ... there might be a midi mapping for your device

    3) get a mapping that has almost everything you need, then make the changes on your own :)

    Thanks chilly

In my other thread I commented that I almost had everything working just fine last night (after 13 hours! but hey:) )

I had the Traktor set up in external mixer mode (thinking the BCD3000 was an external mixer!) now its on internal mixer and all the buttons are working just as they should.

And my sound wasn't set up right for headphone cueing (channels 3 & 4 doh!) but, now its fine.

Maybe I should write an "idiots guide to initially setting up traktor pro with the BCD3000"!

    thanks for your help
