    hi there

Do you know if there's a way to batch-loop a big set of sample loops? What I mean is I have hundreds of 1 bar loops that all need to have the same loop and crossfade values, and it's VERY time consuming doing this manually.

    Any automated method in K4?

    Thanks

    Dan

hmm, and i'm not sure how to rephrase it to be any clearer.

well, i have lots of 1 bar loops to drop into kontakt, and for each loop I wish to switch on the Loop function, with a 2000ms Loop Start, and 2000ms crossfade length.

Doing this one sample at a time will take several days, and I wondered if there was some kind of automation function which can repeat this same action for every sample, without me having to manually click the same buttons in the Sample Editor over and over again.

    Does that make more sense?

    Thanks

    Dan

Nope. It's a pain, I know. Try to use Awave Studio for that, writing down loop points to WAV files. It has a batch tool, IIRC.

This should be a feature Request.

I would be inclined to keep stuff like that out of the sample player and use another tool such as the above-mentioned AWave Studio (excellent!) or WaveLab. Adding such functions to Kontakt could result in unnecessary bloat. Extending the scripting capabilities within Kontakt might be a solution, but really, how many people would use such a feature and would there be so many as to justify the development costs? My guess is that the vast majority of Kontakt users don't create their own instruments.

[EDIT] Actually I just checked and I don't think Awave can set loop points as part of its batch conversion process. WaveLab can be scripted though so it's a case of investing time in programming it ... if you need to do such batch conversions regularly it's probably worth it, but I guess you would spend quite a few hours developing a WaveLab script to do what you want to do.
