Is this a Bug? Unable to drag tracks into playlist

hey guys, i just upgraded to the 2.5

i was doing my usual workflow:

- beatgrid track
- drag track straight from the track deck into my specified playlist

in 2.5 it does not let me do it!

the file just hovers above the playlist area without letting me add it

a workaround would be dragging it into collections, and then slowly find my playlist and drag it there, a waste of time IMO

what happened here? did i miss something or is this a bug?

anyone else got this?

 

I can drag and drop without problems.
What's your drop target? A playlist below the expanded Playlists node?

 

the target is the main open playlist (that takes half of the bottom of the screen)

the cursor hovers above it but wont let me add into the playlist

Which entry is highlighted in the Browser Tree (at the left side of the browser area)? Is "Track Collection" highlighted?

i can attach a screen show with command + shift + 4


but as soon as i try to capture screen the cursor changes back to normal

i took a picture with one hand using my iphone and used the other hand to hold down the trackpand and this is how it looks like

notice the cursor shows unable to put on the playlist

 

Can you make a pic from the LEFT side of the browser as well (from the browser TREE, not the browser list)?

im pretty sure its a bug, i do this ALL THE TIME with the previous version, its a part of my normal gridding / organizing workflow but now its all messed up as i cant even drag tracks from the track deck into my playlist

 

Strange. I am pretty sure that it worked as I tried yesterday.
But you are right: it works in Traktor 2.1.3 and it is broken in 2.5.0.

Can you send a report to NI support?

As workaround you can drag the track to the name of the playlists (as visible in your second image)

 

yes its a workaround but you see i arrange my tracks in key, if i drag the track to the playlist on the left i would have to open the playlist again, drag the track from all the way to the bottom of the playlist to where its supposed to be based on its key

i will report this to ni support ASAP - for me this is a major major workflow flaw, glad im not the only one experiencing it

Same topic here. Can't drop from trackdeck to playlists.

 

I figured out a work around u have to drag the track u want into the remix decks then into the playlist lol its the only way kinda annoying but it works

 

ty for the work around but what if one does not have the remix deck on ?
one must turn it on. This bug must be fixed.
I wonder how long it will take to fix all these new bugs ?

 

ur welcome and ya i have no idea how to fix it with remix decks off and who knows iam thinking there working on a new update very soon

 

i thought remix decks can only contain limited length of song? can you really drag a WHOLE 5 min song into the remix deck? gonna try this later

Yes, you can load complete tracks into a cell.
There was a limitation with the sample decks, it is gone in the remix decks.

 

ah i see, thanks for the info, back in the previous version if i load something into the sample deck they'd make a shorter copy of the audio (in wav file)

does loading into the remix deck create the same thing?

 

No Problem Dragging into Playlists

I tested this on my new 2.5 setup and I could drag from any player to any playlist without a problem.

I have same problem (with 2.13 drag and drop the title of deck to in the middle of playlist was ok but now with 2.50 it's impossible to do that ! Just only Drag and Drop on the name of playlist is possible!).

Have you a respond of NI about that ?

Just started experiencing this same issue, but using Traktor Pro 2.6.8 on a Mac 2.8 i7 running Maverick 10.9.4. Suddenly, after adding some new tracks, the drag and drop from anywhere in Traktor - track decks, browser, playlist tree, iTunes tree, just won't work. Drag and drop works fine elsewhere on the machine, just not in Traktor.

Tried deleting the tsi and importing a new one (back up of my modded one and the standard keyboard tsi) but no improvement.

There is a work around by selecting the playlist I want to add to as the 'preparation list' and then 'appending' the tracks I want to move to the prep folder, but this is a drag (pardon the pun) for one or two files.

Any ideas? Is this a bug still being worked on or is there something else I need to do to restore functionality?

The only time I have experienced not being able to drag n drop into a playlist is if I have one playlist assigned to 2 different favourite slots.
One slot becomes unusable.
