is this a common FM8 playback error?

i recorded a pad with FM8 and anytime i click at a different section in my project or skip around, it sustains the last pad sound and literally doesn't shut up. it's like it's "jammed" and won't release. i have to go back to where i left that note or something and let it play seamlessly from there in order to fix it. i'll make a video if i have to, but i just want to see if anyone knows what i'm talking about first?

it's like maschines modulation automation error when you don't set it back to 0, except i'm not using any modulation or automation (in maschine anyway, but i think the preset in FM8 does have modulation)

 

Maybe cause that way it gets no note off signal from that note? Have you tried with the same note or chord in te next scene?

Sounds like a DAW thing where its not sending a note off when you skip around. Not much that can be done about that.

 

Did you play sustain pedal ? Some DAWs have a special feature dealing with duration or sustain pedal, like you have a 4 measure hold note and you play from the half of it, should it play the note nonetheless or skip it (same for sustain). Check that kind of feature, may be ?

 

i see what you're saying and that does happen, but wasn't the case.

i'm using maschine standalone
